Peter Marc Jacobson BIO

Peter Marc Jacobson is an American television writer, director, producer, and actor. He is best known as the showrunner of the popular sitcom The Nanny, which he created and produced with his then-wife, Fran Drescher, who also starred in the series. He was often credited as Peter Marc in his early acting roles.

Jacobson and Fran Drescher founded their own production company, Highschool Sweethearts, in 1995. The company produced The Nanny since the show's third season episode, "Dope Diamond". The company also produced The Beautician and the Beast with Paramount Pictures. After The Nanny cancelled in 1999, the couple closed Highschool Sweethearts.

Fran Drescher Hints That THE NANNY Could be Headed to Broadway


Fran Drescher, star of the hit TV show The Nanny, has hinted that there may be a musical or play of the series in the works. While attending the Endometriosis Foundation of America's Blossom Ball, Drescher told CNN that she and the show's co-creator Peter Marc Jacobson were working a Nanny-related project and that it was 'very big.' She confirmed that the project was no a TV reboot but plead the fifth when asked if the project was a Broadway show, laughing and saying, 'I can't say.'
