One Four One Collective is returning to the Toronto Fringe Festival to stage the world premiere of Good Old Days by prolific Toronto playwright, Michael Ross Albert. After producing the critically-acclaimed Toronto Fringe Festival hits, Anywhere and The Huns (both, Patron's Pick and Best of Fringe), the indie theatre collective will now present its most ambitious Fringe project yet. 

At a press conference held at Meridian Hall, the Toronto Alliance for the  Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 228 nominations for the 43rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto for the 2022-2023 season. Also announced at the press conference was the recipient of the Province of Ontario’s Pauline McGibbon Award.

The Theatre Centre has received a $249,700 Community Building Fund grant from the Government of Ontario, which was delivered by the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The grant, which was awarded in the fall of 2021 made an integral contribution to helping The Theatre Centre stay afloat during its 2021/22 programming year by helping with key operational costs.

The Howland Company and Hart House Theatre have announced a contemporary adaptation of Chekhov's THREE SISTERS, a co-production appearing this fall on the Hart House stage. The Canadian Opera Company's Free Concert Series in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre, returns to live performances for the first time in three seasons on September 20, 2022. The company's 15th season as Toronto's go-to venue for diverse cultural programming features 70 concerts, from September to June, that showcase global and local artists across a variety of genres and disciplines.

Fall for Dance North (FFDN), in partnership with TO Live, announces a special, in-theatre film screening of FFDN's 2021 Signature Program dance film at Meridian Hall (1 Front St. E) on Oct. 14 at 7pm, in strict compliance with public health protocols and seating capacity limitations. An innovative three-part global dance film, the digital presentation features three stunning performances shot on location in India, Cuba, and London (UK) and directed by award-winning Indo-Canadian filmmaker Vikram Dasgupta.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Canada, today announced that Lindsay Fischer, Artistic Director, YOU dance/Principal Ballet Master, will be joining The Sarasota Ballet in Florida as Assistant Education Director and Principal Company Teacher as of August 1, 2021.
