Paul Tate dePoo III is a scenic designer for opera, musicals, plays, concerts, and special events based in New York City. Most recently, dePoo created the set for 'A Raisin In the Sun' at Palm Beach Dramaworks, 'The Music Man' at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, 'The Kite Runner' at the Boston Repertory Theatre and the national tour for indie band Elephant 6's The Music Tapes. Previously, he was the scenic designer for New York City's 120 Person Tableau Vivant with the Living Picture Projects, 'Our Lady' at the Boston Center For American Performance (awarded Kennedy Center Festival's Most Distinguished Production), 'Hello, Dolly!' at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, the NY International Fringe Festival's 'Bunked!' (awarded Best Musical and Production), 'The Maids' at 4th Street Theatre, 'Edibles Incorporated' with the NYC Incubator Series, Jessica Simpson's Fashion Show & Event Launch at 2010 NYFW, 'Radium Girls' at the Boston Center for the Arts, and Boston University Opera Institute's 'Thér�se Raquin'.
Paul's work as a Broadway associate designer with Derek McLane Studios includes 'Nice Work If You Can Get It', 'Follies', 'Anything Goes', 'Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo', and 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying'. He was also the assistant designer to David Zinn for the world premiere of Opera Boston's 'Madam White Snake' and assistant designer to James Noone for Steven Sondheim's 80th Birthday Concert featuring the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at Lincoln Center.
Originally from Key West, FL, dePoo is a scenic design graduate of Boston University and currently a nominee for the United States Institute for Theatre Technology's Rising Star Award.
