Now Extended! THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES Is Unleashed This Week


This week, a lighting-quick comedy takes the stage at TheatreSquared in the "gut-bustingly hilarious" (The Times) The Hound of the Baskervilles, a new adaptation that simultaneously spoofs and reveres Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most celebrated mystery. In this highly theatrical adaptation by Steven Canny and John Nicholson, Sherlock Holmes and Watson set off to the moors to debunk a family 'curse," and encounter dozens of suspicious characters who may be too much for Sherlock-or, for that matter, a cast of three-to handle. TheatreSquared's production is produced in partnership with Virginia Stage Company and directed by Mark Shanahan (Peter and the Starcatcher). Virginia Stage Company continues its 39th Season with a lighting quick, comical adaptation of the beloved detective novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles, produced in partnership with TheatreSquared. Three actors play more than 20 characters in this hilarious spoof of beastly proportions. TheatreSquared Presents PETER AND THE STARCATCHER


On December 3, TheatreSquared will begin performances of the critically acclaimed Peter and the Starcatcher, a fast-paced theatrical adventure for audiences of all ages. Mark Shanahan (Around the World in 80 Days, The Quest for Don Quixote) will direct this new adaptation by Rick Elise, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, with music by Wayne Barker.

IN LOVE AND WARCRAFT Wins 2014 Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition


Now celebrating its 10th anniversary season, the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists. IN LOVE AND WARCRAFT, the 10th competition winner, will premiere on the Hertz Stage January 31 - February 23, 2014. Opening night is February 5, 2014. IN LOVE AND WARCRAFT is written by Madhuri Shekar, a recent graduate of the MFA program at the University of South California, and will be directed by Laura Kepley, Artistic Director of the Cleveland Play House.
