The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities continues its 42nd theatre season with the Broadway musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, directed by Gavin Mayer, opening on Friday, November 17 and running through December 23, 2017.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will open its 42nd theatre season with the hit Broadway musical A Chorus Line directed by Rod A. Lansberry, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. A Chorus Line spans one day in the lives of 17 dancers all vying for a coveted spot in the chorus of a Broadway musical. Considered groundbreaking when it opened on Broadway in 1975, the musical went on to win nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Today, it remains as touching and powerful as when it debuted and is one of the longest running musicals on Broadway. The 2017 - 2018 Theatre Season is sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center. A Chorus Line is underwritten byDr. and Mrs. Richard A. Patt and The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation.

Set in 1933, the musical 42nd Street follows a cast directed by Julian Marsh (David L. Wygant) rehearsing to open the show "Pretty Lady." We join the show as the cast is about to meet their star performer, Dorothy Brock (Heather McClain) whose star and financial powers have secured her the lead role despite her inability to dance.  Through many different misunderstandings Ms. Brock is unable to perform and a new starlet, Peggy Sawyer (Lisa Kay Carter), is given a chance to shine.

Actor-writer-musical improviser Jason Kravits returns to his Village stomping grounds, The Duplex,on Oct. 27th at 7pm, with OFF The TOP. Jason is fresh from breaking in his act in Los Angeles this month at Rockwell, where he was joined by Gary Anthony Williams and Nicole Parker Redford in a 'reunion' of their 'long defunct folk/spoken word trio."  

The Addams Family has been playing BDT Stage in Boulder since November, but even though death is just around the corner for this show's run, it still manages to be everything but neat, sweet and petite. (Which is exactly what an homage to the classic family deserves.)

Tarzan® The Stage Musical features music and lyrics by British pop icon Phil Collins (drummer and lead singer for rock group Genesis), and is written by David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly, Aida). I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this fun-filled children's show and found myself laughing throughout from the adult humor sprinkled in the script.

The Aurora Fox is pleased to be presenting the Tony Award-Winning musical comedy Monty Python's SPAMALOT.

On Thursday, February 13 at noon, the Arvada Center opens the children's theater production Lyle the Crocodile adapted for the stage by Kevin Kling with music by Richard Gray. The play is based on Lyle, Lyle Crocodile and The House on East 88th Street by Bernard Waber. Lyle the Crocodile will run February 13 - May 23, 2014. Performances are 10:00 a.m. and noon, most Tuesdays through Fridays, and some Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from $8 weekdays and $10 weekends and holidays for reserved seating. Lyle the Crocodile will be Audio Described for the sight impaired on March 4 at 10:00 a.m. and noon and Shadow performed for the hearing impaired on March 5 and 6, at 10:00 a.m. and noon. Shadow- interpreted theater utilizes specially trained American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to perform as 'shadows' on stage alongside actors. In this week's episode of 'In Focus', host Eden Lane gets in the holiday spirit at the Arvada Center with 'A Christmas Carol, The Musical.' Going behind the scenes, Eden takes viewers to rehearsal to meet the creative team as well as the star of the show - Scrooge himself. Previews are November 22 - 24 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Please note: There will not be a performance on Thursday, November 28 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
