August Strindberg Repertory Theatre, under the leadership of Robert Greer, is committed to production of his plays in new translations and interpretations that illuminate the plays of Sweden's national playwright, whose work remains as relevant today as when they were written.  The company continues its explorations November 12 to December 3 at Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, presenting a double-bill of two-character plays -- 'Pariah' and 'The Stronger' -- in alternating rep with with Strindberg's Arabian Nights play, 'Abu Casem's Slippers.'

Jack Agueros, the activist, poet, playwright and former director of El Museo del Barrio is being honored this month at the famed Medicine Show Ensemble Theatre with the presentation of four of his seldom seen plays. The production is directed by Oliver Conant and opens October 5th with 5 shows a week for 4 weeks. The play runs Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm, Saturday matinees are at 3pm.

Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble, one of New York's longest-running experimental theatres, is giving a gift to the city. It will stage a winter theatre comedy tradition A Mummers' Play, aimed at bringing back Spring. In previous seasons, when Medicine Show has produced the piece, it has always worked, Spring has always returned to New York!
