FOX Sports’ award-winning baseball personality and star of the podcast FLIPPIN’ BATS, Ben Verlander, sits down with international baseball phenom and Los Angeles Angels pitcher/designated hitter, Shohei Ohtani, for an exclusive all-access interview and in-depth conversation about Ohtani’s unique path to superstardom, the network has announced.

The film features new and rare interviews with White and Gibson, before his untimely passing, as well as former and current baseball players such as CCSabathia, Mookie Betts, Ken Griffey Jr., Joe Torre, Dave Roberts, Al Downing and Tim McCarver, renowned sports journalists, and unlimited access to Major League Baseball’s expansive media archive.

Emerging Artists Theatre presents A Stormy Night: Scenes and Songs, a workshop performance on March 28 at 7PM at TADA Theatre. Presented as part of the 2022 New Work Series, March 21 - April 10, 2022.

The two-hour film tells the story of the second wave of Black baseball players after Jackie Robinson – such as Bill White, Curt Flood and Bob Gibson – who were up next in the fight for equality. The film features rare interviews with former and current baseball players such as CC Sabathia and Mookie Betts.

During his remarkable career with the Boston Red Sox, Ted Williams earned many nicknames - The Kid, The Splendid Splinter and Teddy Ballgame, but the only nickname that he wanted was “the greatest hitter who ever lived.” In that pursuit, he combined his preternatural gifts with a fierce work ethic to become widely regarded as one of the greatest ever to play the game of baseball and in the process elevated the science of hitting in ways still emulated today.

The Whalephant intertwines the story of two Massachusetts men, past and present: Moses Spouter, a famed and possibly unhinged Nantucket whaling captain; and his great-great grandson, Abe Spouter, day-drunk and proud and generally pissed, who captains a whale-watching boat off the coast of Cape Cod.  It's a play about history and family, cetaceans and shanties, and the search for self at sea.
