New York Live Arts' (Live Arts) Live Feed creative residency and commissioning program presents the world premiere of light and desire, a new evening-length work by the NYC-based dancemaker and professor Colleen Thomas, featuring an ensemble of acclaimed international female performers and artmakers. The piece - anchored by a short film by the award-winning filmmaker Carla Forte - looks at how women artists cope under unjust and manipulative power structures. light and desire will be presented at New York Live Arts Studio (219 W 19th Street, New York, NY 10011) from Wednesday, March 25th through Saturday, March 28th; all performances at 7:30 pm.

'Ybor City,' an original musical with book by Anita Gonzalez and music and lyrics by Dan Furman, is a story of romance and labor organizing in 1918 Tampa, where the Afro-Cuban workforce joined with Italian and Spanish immigrants to unionize the new American cigar industry. The tuner will be presented as a work-in-progress February 5 to 26 by Brooklyn Tavern Theater, which is is pioneering a new theatrical genre: no-frills, immersive musicals presented as Equity showcases in hospitable taprooms. Performances will be Feb. 5, 12, 18, 19 and 26 at Rustik Tavern, 471 Dekalb Ave., Bed-Stuy and February 10 and 25 at The Players, 16 Gramercy Park South, Manhattan. WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Ballet is pleased to announce casting and libretto for the world premiere of Septime Webre's Sleepy Hollow, Wednesday, February 18 - Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater. The Company will be joined by guest artist, Xiomara Reyes, a principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre who will premiere the role of Katrina Van Tassel. Reyes studied at Cuba's National Ballet School. Prior to joining ABT, she danced as a First Soloist at the Royal Ballet of Flanders. Reyes joined American Ballet Theatre as a Soloist in 2001 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2003. Her awards include the Gold Medal for the Best Soloist at the International Ballet Competition of Chiclayo, Peru (1996), Best Couple Prize at the XIV International Ballet Competition in Varna (1990) and Silver Medal at the Cinquienne Concours International de Danse de Paris (1992).

The Washington Ballet (TWB) welcomes two new dancers from Cuba and names three dancers from the Studio Company to the performing Company. The Studio Company will also see nine new dancers from the U.S. and abroad. TWB veteran Company dancer Luis R. Torres joins the administrative staff of the organization as the Studio Company and Trainee Ballet Master.

The world premiere of Wendy Whelan's Restless Creature, an evening-length suite of dynamic contemporary duets, will take place at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in the historic Ted Shawn Theatre, August 14-18. Each with his own unique style and artistry, the four contemporary choreographers of Restless Creature: Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks, and Alejandro Cerrudo, will perform alongside 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina' (Claudia La Rocco, The New York Times) only at Jacob's Pillow this summer.

Dynamic contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC makes its Jacob's Pillow debut today, July 31- August 4 in the Doris Duke Theatre.
