Michelle Vezilj is an accomplished actress, comedienne, writer, and singer-songwriter. She recently played a sold out concert at Los Angeles' fabled Troubadour, and now she is officially releasing the music video for her latest single, the breathtakingly poignant 'SAD GIRLS DON'T CRY,' on Friday, September 18, 2020; however, BroadwayWorld has exclusively been granted early access to the gorgeous video and evocative song.

Attendees will enter a nightclub in 1963 Germany just under the shadow of the Berlin Wall where everyone is a spy and no one can be trusted. During the evening, CRIMSON CABARET guests will engage with secret agents and be slipped notes with assigned missions to complete throughout the evening. All guests are required to dress in 1960s appropriate cocktail party attire and assume a character of their choosing, then bring that character into the space and be ready to do what is asked of you and find the right person who can lead you in the direction where your skills are required during this multi-sensory, immersive theatrical experience. But you see, since everyone is dressed appropriately, how can you possibly know who to trust and who is really playing for the wrong team on this side of the wall?

Michelle Vezilj is making a profound and timely statement with her latest single, 'Fire Goes to Die.' Inspired by the #MeToo movement and being a victim of sexual assault herself, Vezilj's empowering anthem touches on those pressing topics. Yet, in the same week as the governor of Alabama signed our nation's most restrictive anti-abortion bill into law, this tune's broader themes about emboldening oneself to take control of one's body couldn't feel more timely.

This Friday Los Angeles-based musician Michelle Vezilj will release her new single 'Fire Goes To Die.' The 'Fire Goes To Die' lyric video premeired at Entertainment Focus along with an exclusive interview with Michelle. 'Fire Goes To Die' can also be shared at SoundCloud and will be on all streaming services on Friday. About the song, Michelle Vezilj says, 'I wrote my song 'Fire Goes To Die' in response to my experience and as an anthem for the Me Too movement. It's my small way of encouraging other survivors of all genders and orientations to come forward and know they are not alone, the way I once was. Recently, a lot of brave women have started coming forward with their own stories. Their will to stand up and say something propelled me to come forward. Speaking those words out loud gave me back my power. I hope that I can help other people fighting their own battles because no one should have to fight alone.'

In December of 2013, stage veterans Gabe Bowling and Michelle Vezilj released their first EP as Drink Me Up. Pulling from the traditions of singer-songwriters and indie rock, the duo's eponymous debut release quickly became an album I couldn't get enough of. Today, Drink Me Up is releasing a video for the catchy song "Karma," and the sexy single still packs a fabulous punch.

In 2013, I turned 28, which apparently is one of several years at the end of your 20s where basically your life hits the fan and sudden changes surround you. I looked around, and everyone else seemed so happy. Then, I breathed and realized that I have plenty to be happy about. In 2013 I became BroadwayWorld.com's official theatre recording critic and have been exposed to some incredible albums since accepting that title. Some I have loved; others I have not. By now, you've heard of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey, the erotica novel that found mainstream success and wide readership in 2011. You probably even know it spurned a trilogy (what isn't a trilogy these days). And you may have even read at least a portion of the novel yourself. You may have swooned over Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's torrid and steamy couplings and love affair. Well, Houston's Society for the Performing Arts is ready to make you relive the release of America's pent-up sexual frustration and laugh raucously at the same time with their presentation of Mills Entertainment's SPANK! THE FIFTY SHADES PARODY.

SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody, the hilarious and naughty new parody of Fifty Shades of Grey, will dominate willing audiences at the Royal George Theatre Main Stage, 1641 N. Halsted, in a limited three-week engagement starting Wednesday evening, November 28. The production, which premiered in Springfield, MA earlier this month, is produced by Mills Entertainment, and is being presented in Chicago by the Just For Laughs Group.
