The West End transfer of Tennessee Williams' intoxicating and rarely staged classic, Summer and Smoke, follows a sold-out and critically lauded run at the Almeida Theatre. Directed by the Almeida's Associate Director Rebecca Frecknall with the full cast reprising their roles for the West End run, this innovative new production of Summer and Smoke has a limited run from 10 November 2018 - 19 January 2019, at the Duke Of York's Theatre, with press night on Tuesday 20 November at 7pm.

Pennsylvania Ballet Kicks-Off the 2017-2018 Season

Pennsylvania Ballet and Artistic Director Angel Corella are proud to open the 2017-2018 season on October 12, 2017 at the Academy of Music with a performance of The Sleeping Beauty, sponsored by PECO. On Edge, a program featuring three ballets new to the company, a world premiere by Helen Pickett, supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, Episode 31 by Alexander Ekman, and a world premiere by Matthew Neenan in his 10th season as choreographer in residence, runs November 9 - 12 at the Merriam Theater.

PA Ballet Welcomes Corps de Ballet Member, Four Apprentices

Pennsylvania Ballet Artistic Director Angel Corella has announced the roster for the 2017/2018 Season with the additions of Corps de Ballet member Zecheng Liang, and new Apprentices Federico D'Ortenzi, Erin O'Dea, Taro Kurachi, and Cassidy McAndrew (previous member of Pennsylvania Ballet II).

Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE to Feature Dances by Feld, Careless and More

Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE, called 'a New York City treasure' by The New York Times, makes its annual visit to The Joyce for six performances, June 8-11.   The remarkably poised, scrupulously schooled, and impeccably rehearsed whiz-kids, numbering 60, ages 11-17, will delight audiences young and old with Feld classics Meshugana Dance and The Jig is Up, along with two Feld works created especially for Kids Dance: Upside Dance and the new Pointing, a premiere for four young ladies en pointe.

Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE Opens 6/8-11 at The Joyce

Eliot Feld remains committed to creating a repertory of dances created especially for young dancers.  For the June 8-11 season of Kids Dance, Feld will premiere one new ballet.  There will also be one new dance by Laura Careless, and a second new work by a trio of young choreographers who are graduates of or seniors at Juilliard: Conner Bormann, Riley O'Flynn, Stephanie Terasaki.

Pennsylvania Ballet Presents ROMANCE and RE/ACTION

Pennsylvania Ballet and Artistic Director Angel Corella will finish the 2016/2017 season with two mixed bill programs: Romance in April, featuring the World Premiere of Nicolo Fonte's Ghost Stories; and the final program, Re/Action, in May which includes a World Premiere by Choreographer in Residence, Matthew Neenan. Romance, supported by ALGER, will run April 6-9 at The Merriam Theater, and Re/Action will run May 11-14 at The Academy of Music.

Joining Aisling Loftus and Matthew Needham in THE TREATMENT will be Gary Beadle, Ian Gelder, Ben Onwukwe, Julian Ovenden, Ellora Torchia, Indira Varma, and Hara Yannas. The Treatment begins previews at the Almeida Theatre on Monday 24 April and runs until Saturday 10 June.

Julliard Dance Presents NEW DANCES: EDITION 2017

Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, presents New Dances: Edition 2016 featuring four world-premiere dances by choreographers John Heginbotham (First-Year Dancers), Katarzyna Skarpetowska, (Second-Year Dancers), Pam Tanowitz (Third-Year Dancers), and Matthew Neenan (Fourth-Year Dancers).  Heginbotham and Skarpetowska are Juilliard alums, and Tanowitz and Neenan are returning as New Dances choreographers.

BALLETX Announces 2016-17 Season

BalletX, Philadelphia's Premier Contemporary Ballet, unveils its 2016-17 Season. Following a decade of world premiere work in Philadelphia, paired with consistent national touring, which most recently included residencies at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Vail International Dance Festival, and The Joyce Theater, BalletX has emerged as 'a place of choreographic innovation,' according to The New Yorker, and 'one of the country's primary producers of new ballet,' as stated in The Denver Post. The 2016-17 Season includes four series in Philadelphia, three at The Wilma Theater - Fall Series 2016 (Nov. 16-20), Winter Series 2017 (Feb. 10-19), Spring Series 2017 (Apr. 26-30) - and Summer Series 2017 (July 12-16) at the Prince Theater, while the Wilma undergoes renovations in July of 2017.
