Theater for the New City's Love 'N Courage Gala on Feb. 12 will support its Emerging Playwrights program. The event will honor playwright Penny Arcade and feature performances at The Players.

With the roster still building, Theater for the New City has currently scheduled over 200 performing arts organizations, independent artists, poets, puppeteers and film makers for its 28th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, which will be mounted May 26 to 28 in and around Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave. (at E. 10th Street). Admission is free but donations will be gratefully accepted.

With the heat broken in their East Village two-bedroom apartment on New Year's Eve, plans for the evening are on hold for Katy and Jennifer. In desperation, the two recent college graduates try to get to Jennifer's grandmother's place. But when they open the door to leave, they are confronted by a creepy flasher whom they have inadvertently buzzed into the building.

Angry Young Pretenders Productions has announced An Excuse to Behave Badly: The Variety Show!, a one-hour variety show with a mix of stand-up comedy, sketch comedy, and the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival hit and Encore! Producers' Award-winner An Excuse to Behave Badly by Jenni Halina. The short play is a hilarious tale of four women on Halloween getting into misadventures while waiting for an Uber.

KADM Productions has announced a 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival production of If We Run, a new play by Matt Morillo. Featuring Katie Oliver and Dingani Beza under the direction of Emily Lappi, there will be six performances at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood Sunday 6/9 at 8pm; Thursday 6/13 at 6pm; Saturday 6/22 at 8pm; Sunday 6/23 at 4pm; Monday 6/24 at 10pm; and Friday 6/28 at 8pm. Running time will be 55 minutes.

KADM Productions has announced dates for the New York City premiere of THE GIRL WHO JUMPED OFF THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN, a solo show written and performed by South Australian theatre maker Joanne Hartstone. Featuring songs composed for Hollywood's brightest stars Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlow, and more this play with music takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through the Golden Age of Hollywood from a whole new perspective. Previews begin on Tuesday, January 2nd and will run through Sunday, January 21st at Theater for the New City in Manhattan.  KADM Productions has announced the West Coast premiere of Allen Wilder 2.0, written and directed by Matt Morillo, at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood for four weeks only beginning April 28. The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Farida Amer, Eileen Grubba and Tom Pilutik. There will be one preview performance on Friday, April 28 and opening is set for Saturday, April 29 at 8pm. The limited engagement will run through May 21 only.

Theater for the New City's Executive Director, Crystal Field, has announced that they will honor celebrated actor/director/teacher Austin Pendleton at this year's annual fundraising gala LOVE N' COURAGE.

KADM Productions has announced a Hollywood Fringe Festival production of All Aboard the Marriage Hearse, a romantic seriocomic play written and directed by Matt Morillo. Featuring Jessica Moreno and Tom Pilutik, there will be six performances at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood - Saturday 6/4 at 6pm (press preview); Friday 6/10 at 8pm; Saturday 6/11 at 10pm; Friday 6/17 at 6pm; Saturday 6/18 at 8pm; and Sunday 6/19 at 4pm. Running time will be 70 minutes.

In 'Allen Wilder 2.0' by Matt Morillo, a director of softcore porn returns from Hollywood to his dead parents' house in Levittown, LI to sort through his belongings and re-examine the shame of his life. Can his ex-babysitter, recently divorced, soothe the wounds of failure he feels?  The 'trap of regrets' in each of these two gets comic treatment in this new play, whose premiere will be presented by Theater for the New City January 7 to 31, 2016, directed by the author.
