Non c'e commedia musicale piu 'romana' di RUGANTINO che festeggia i 40 anni di questa edizione in un Teatro Sistina stracolmo e pieno di un palpabile affetto per questa opera teatrale che fa ormai parte della storia; la sua prima rappresentazione avvenne infatti nel 1962 con un cast composto da Nino Manfredi, Lea Massari, Aldo Fabrizi, Bice Valori e Lando Fiorini,

A partir del viernes 24 de julio, el Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires y la Fundacion Cinemateca Argentina presentan en la Sala Leopoldo Lugones del Teatro San Martin (Avda. Corrientes 1530) el estreno exclusivo de la version restaurada de El gatopardo, la obra maestra de 1963 de Luchino Visconti, en siete unicas funciones.

Oggi nel 1962, RUGANTINO debuttava al Teatro Sistina di Roma. RUGANTINO, insieme ad AGGIUNGI UN POSTO A TAVOLA, è una delle commedie musicali più apprezzate del repertorio G&G. Le musiche sono del M° Armando Trovajoli mentre il testo porta le firme di Pietro Garinei, Sandro Giovannini, Pasquale Festa Campanile, Massimo Franciosa e Luigi Magni. Il cast della produzione originale vedeva Nino Manfredi nei panni del mascalzone Rugantino, il compianto Aldo Fabrizi in quelli di Mastro Titta, Lea Massari nel ruolo di Rosetta e Bice Valori in quello di Eusebia. Scene e costumi erano del grande Giulio Coltellacci e le coreografie di Dania Krupska (sostituita per la seconda edizione da Gino Landi).
