Fats Waller, Willie "The Lion" Smith, and James P. Johnson created a jazz piano style known as stride that is both musically and visually exciting and has been a fan favorite for decades. The Bickford Theatre is proud to present the next generation of  stride pianists in concert with critically-acclaimed musician Stephanie Trick joined by the equally talented Paolo Alderighi on Monday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m.

Steve March Torme, the first-born son of legendary jazz singer Mel Torme presents a magical evening of music and memories on Monday, February 6, at 8:00pm at the McCallum Theatre. Steve March Torme, accompanied by a ten-piece band playing iconic arrangements by Marty Paich, sings his father's best-known songs, interspersed with personal Torme photos and video clips. From the opening strains of "Sweet Georgia Brown" to the up-tempo excitement of Duke Ellington's "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing," the concert covers a sweeping arc of many of the songs Mel performed over a 50 years plus career, including "Stardust," "A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square," "Lulu's Back in Town," and "The Folks Who Live on the Hill."

The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) presents 'LACO @ The Movies Celebrates Walt Disney Animation Studios,' an extraordinary evening of musical world premieres and eye-popping animation spanning more than 80 years with orchestral scores performed live by Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, led by six-time Emmy Award-winning composer Mark Watters, on Saturday, June 13, 2015, 7 pm, at The Theatre at Ace Hotel, an historic movie palace in Downtown LA.

Lyricist/jazz singer Lorraine Feather?s Attachments was released in August of 2013. The album consists of collaborations with Lorraine Feather?s three longtime co-writers Shelly Berg, Russell Ferrante and Eddie Arkin. One additional song is an adaptation of a movie theme by Dave Grusin (?Memphis Stomp,? from The Firm), with whom Feather began working in 2012; another is a Grusin arrangement of Bach?s ?Air on the G String? with Feather?s added lyrics. Attachments also includes a lyricized version of Joey Calderazzo?s ?La Valse Kendall,? from Calderazzo?s album with Branford Marsalis, Songs of Mirth and Melancholy.
