Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival brings FLEXN, an electrifying street dance to the Ted Shawn Theatre stage, August 17-20. Created by flex dance pioneer Reggie (Regg Roc) Gray with visionary theatre and opera director Peter Sellars, FLEXN confronts today's complicated social justice issues by combining raw personal perspectives with powerful and provocative movement. In order to contextualize the topics addressed in the performance, the show will open with an onstage panel discussion with artists and community leaders debating the current socio-political climate and its impact on Berkshire County.

This season signals an exciting new era in Pillow history, as the Board of Directors plans to name a new Jacob's Pillow Director in early 2016. Former Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff stepped down from her role in September of 2015, following a successful 17-year tenure.

May 26, 2015 - (Becket, MA) Following the critical acclaim and record-breaking attendance of Festival 2014, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival opens its 2015 season in June. Highlights of Festival 2015 include Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host, a special dance and radio stage production starring Ira Glass, host of This American Life; the return of Nederlands Dans Theater 2; the world premiere of American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Daniil Simkin's INTENSIO; Cuban contemporary ensemble Malpaso Dance Company, performing with GRAMMY Award-winning pianist and composer Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble; and the launch of Martha Graham Dance Company's 90th Anniversary, including a world premiere by eminent choreographer Mats Ek. 

Parsons Dance will be at the Joyce through February 1st and they are presenting two distinctive programs. Metropolitan area audiences should not miss the chance to see this extraordinary modern dance company.

A potent mix of international and American music, theater and dance premieres highlight the second half of the Kasser Theater's 10th anniversary celebration, which begins today, January 24 with the American premiere of Robyn Orlin's extravagantly titled 'At the same time we were pointing a finger at you, we realized we were pointing three at ourselves...' performed by the Senegalese dance troupe Compagnie Jant-Bi.

Despite the welcoming size of its stage and its top technical offerings, nothing about the Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University has been considered sacred since its opening ten years ago. The art of the dance movie poster is celebrated at Jacob's Pillow this summer with GOTTA DANCE!, an extraordinary exhibit of vintage posters from throughout the world. The posters, which feature stars such as Gene Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Cyd Charisse, Eleanor Powell, and Astaire & Rogers, were selected from the personal collection of one of the genre's foremost experts, award-winning campaign designer and producer Mike Kaplan. GOTTA DANCE! includes a special six-poster salute to Marge and Gower Champion on the occasion of Marge Champion's 95th birthday.

Bridges Stage Company in collaboration with ACT Central Heating Lab presents the Pacific Northwest Premiere of Edmund White's Terre Haute, directed and produced by Aaron Levin. Terre Haute previews May 15th, opens May 16th to June 15th, 2014 at ACT's Eulalie Scanduzzi Space (the "Lalie").

Centenary Stage Company (CSC) annual Dance Fest continues through April 11th with the talents of The Art of Motion Dance Theatre and moe-tion dance theater. The Lackland Center will be the center for dancers and families from and around Hackettstown to congregate for two fantastic shows and a free Day of Dance Workshops open to the public.
