On December 17th at 8:00 p.m., Nutley Little Theatre will present “Family Drama,” the next installment of its series of staged readings of original shows by up-and-coming playwrights. Overboard is a fresh take on the iconic romantic comedy. In a splashy new twist, Overboard focuses on 'Leonardo' (Eugenio Derbez), a selfish, spoiled, rich playboy from Mexico's richest family and 'Kate' (Anna Faris), a working-class single mom of three hired to clean Leonardo's luxury yacht. After unjustly firing Kate and refusing to pay her, Leonardo falls overboard when partying too hard and wakes up on the Oregon coast with amnesia. Kate shows up at the hospital and, to get payback, convinces Leonardo he is her husband and puts him to work - for the first time in his life. At first miserable and inept, Leonardo slowly settles in. Eventually, he earns the respect of his new 'family' and co-workers. Sony Music proudly announces the release of OVERBOARD (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The soundtrack for Overboard is a compilation of tracks by numerous musicians and features original music by Los Hanky Pankys, Rue Melo x ESCQ, Gente de Zona and Break Out The Crazy. The soundtrack is available April 27 for download, streaming and on CD. A Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) and Pantelion Films presentation of a 3Pas Studios production, Overboard is set for release on May 4.
The 1987 rom-com “Overboard,” starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, has been remade, and Natalie Morales caught up with stars Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez. Faris reveals that “it felt terrifying” when Hawn and Russell took her to dinner to talk about the project, but adds that Hawn gave it their blessing.

IMBD news is reporting that Hairspray 2, a sequel to the 2007 Hairspray film starring Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron, John Travolta and Michelle Pfieffer, has been canned. Hairspray composer/producer Marc Shaiman was supposed to team with John Waters on the project, which had had a tentative release date of July 2010 in the early stages of it's planning. The story was going to follow Tracy Turnblad (played by Nikki Blonsky in the first installment) and her pals as they navigate the 'next era of music,' the late '60s.
According to Variety, Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper have signed on for the suspense thriller 'The Dark Fields', set to begin production in May. The plot revolves around down-and-out Gotham writer, played by Cooper, who comes into possession of a designer drug that gives him newfound success. De Niro plays a financial mogul who pursues Cooper's character.
