Translated into English verse by 1987/88 U.S. Poet Laureate and two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Richard Wilbur and directed by Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon, Molière's classic comedy will come to life with a tremendous team of Philadelphia actors.

Theater in Quarantine, a pandemic performance laboratory from writer, director, and performer Joshua William Gelb and choreographer Katie Rose McLaughlin, is proud to present the world premiere of Blood Meal, a new play written by Obie Award-winner Scott R. Sheppard (Underground Railroad Game, The Appointment). In this satirical thriller, remote performers Gelb and Lee Minora come together from separate closets across the East Village to build a portrait of intimacy and infestation. Set to premiere on February 1 on YouTube, this 35-minute work features direction by Gelb along with movement direction and costumes by McLaughlin.

The University Musical Society Announces NO SAFETY NET 2.0, a Three-Week Festival of Three Provocative Theater Productions

 The University Musical Society (UMS) of the University of Michigan announces No Safety Net 2.0, a three-week festival of three provocative theater productions plus a one-on-one installation performance, all of which foster timely conversations around topical social themes. The festival will be held January 22–February 9, 2020 on the University of Michigan campus and features 20 staged performances at Arthur Miller Theatre (1226 Murfin Avenue) and the Duderstadt Center (2281 Bonisteel Blvd), two school day performances, and opportunities for open dialogue and conversation with artists and other audience members. The installation performances will take place throughout the festival in both Ann Arbor and Dearborn. The first No Safety Net festival was held in January–February 2018. Tickets to all performances are on sale now at ums.org.

Lantern Theater Company Presents THE LAST MATCH By Anna Ziegler

Lantern Theater Company continues its 2019/20 season with the Philadelphia premiere of The Last Match, a funny and moving drama from award-winning playwright Anna Ziegler. Lantern resident director M. Craig Getting directs a cast that includes Joanna Liao, Scott Miller, Lee Minora, and Matteo Scammell. Theater critics and members of the press are invited to request press comps for opening night on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. by contacting Anne Shuff at ashuff@lanterntheater.org. 1812 Productions 2019-2020 Season Announced

1812 Productions is pleased to announce its 2019-2020 theatre season. The 2019-2020 season features a Philadelphia premiere from playwright Jen Silverman and three 1812 original works, including the audience favorite This Is The Week That Is and a world premiere musical Tyndale Place.

ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, A Swinging Sixties Romp, Closes Quintessence Theatre Group's Season

Quintessence Theatre Group in Mt. Airy is taking a swinging trip to the sixties to close out their 2019-20 season. Richard Bean's ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS comes to the Sedgwick Theatre, running from June 5 through June 30, 2019. Press are invited to the 7:30PM performances on Saturday, June 8 or any performance afterwards.

Submissions are being accepted for The Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program at 1812 Productions. Now in its 14th year, The Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program supports female solo artists with week-long residencies and small grant awards. The Program was founded in 2005 in honor of beloved Philadelphia theatre performer Jilline Ringle. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 17th.
