Asolo Rep's Annual Gala: Sock Hop at the Drive-In will be held on Saturday, May 1 at Nathan Benderson Park, in an all-new socially distanced format.

Asolo Rep's Annual Gala: A Bollywood Ball will be held on Saturday, March 7 at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. The largest fundraiser of Asolo Rep's season, chaired by Mary Braxton-Joseph, Tammy Karp, Donna Koffman, and Elisabeth Waters, will begin at 6pm with a cocktail reception, silent auction and raffle, followed by a seated dinner, paddle raise, live music and dancing.

The Syracuse Stage season continues with the critically acclaimed 'The Wolves,' Sarah DeLappe's Pulitzer Prize nominated drama about nine young women soccer players. Co-produced with the Syracuse University Department of Drama and directed by Melissa Rain Anderson, 'The Wolves' runs Jan. 22 - Feb. 16 in the Storch Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/SU Drama Complex, 820 E. Genesee St., Syracuse.

Asolo Rep's Annual Gala: Old Hollywood at Cocoanut Grove, will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Art Ovation Hotel in downtown Sarasota. The largest fundraiser of Asolo Rep's season, chaired by Susan Malloy Jones, Elizabeth Moore, Jules Price and Michelle Senglaub, will begin at 6pm with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a seated dinner, paddle raise, live music and dancing. It will celebrate the famed Cocoanut Grove lounge and nightclub in Old Hollywood's Ambassador Hotel - a mecca for movie stars and synonymous with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's Golden Age.

Asolo Rep's Annual Gala 2016: Cabaret at The Tropicana, will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. 

Casting is complete for LaunchingFWD : Season 2, the second annual sneak preview concert of new musicals in development offered by FWD Theatre Project, one of the most-watched new arts organizations in town. Last year's LaunchingFWD event (starring headliner and hometown superstar Jessie Mueller in her first Chicago appearance since winning the Tony Award for Beautiful) sold out the 320 seat main room at City Winery and required overflow seating; FWD hopes this year's event will be even more impressive.

Asolo Rep's 2015 gala will transport guests to the glamorous Copa Room at The Sands Hotel, a legendary Las Vegas nightclub where stars such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. rocked the night away. Asolo Rep, one of the premier professional theatres in the Southeastern U.S., will recreate the magic of the Rainbow Room in the 1940s for a special evening of dining and dancing. A Night at the Rainbow Room will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota tonight, March 1, 2014 at 6PM.

Professional theaters from across Michigan will share the spotlight August 19 when The 2013 Wilde Awards are presented at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts in the Detroit suburb of West Bloomfield. As the Helen Hayes Awards ceremony on April 5th honors performances and productions from the past year, DC theatergoers will be hearing two gorgeous scores by Jason Robert Brown and Jeanine Tesori, and seeing a new opera about a boxer, a splashing pool on stage, Tyne Daley as diva Maria Callas, Maurice Hines tapping his way on the Lincoln Theatre stage, Mrs. Robinson seducing Benjamin, a red balloon thrilling young audiences, Harvey Fierstein wishing he was a rich man, tales and songs from a Scottish Jewish composer, a new children's show with lots of princesses, a little musical with the title in [ ], a triumphant mounting of a short-lived Broadway musical, and a wordless Kafka classic performed in Georgian style. The crocuses, cherry blossoms, and azaleas will be in full bloom, as the nation's capital will be awash in beautiful colors. It's the perfect time to visit and see some great shows in our DC area theatres.
