Jody Oberfelder Dance Projects' 4CHAMBERS Ends 7/21 on Governors Island; Resumes in Brooklyn Jan 2014


Jody Oberfelder Dance Projects invites audiences to experience their hearts from the inside out with the world premiere of 4CHAMBERS. Created, directed and choreographed by Jody Oberfelder, this immersive blend of dance, theater, film and visual installation runs through July 21 at Officers House 15 on Governors Island. In January 2014, the production will transfer to Brooklyn's Arts@Renaissance where it will run for 8 weeks.

From the novel that was so scandalous that it was even banned in France for a time-banned in France for being too sexy!-comes Christopher Hampton's wonderfully wicked and funny play Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Innocents lose their virtue and reputations as Vicomte Valmont and Marquise de Merteuil each try to outdo the other in a cruel game of seduction and revenge. Is it simply human nature or truly evil behavior? Each audience member must decide.

Eight strangers and two servants are invited to a mansion off the coast of Devon. Once the arrive, statuettes of little soldier boys on the mantel fall to the ground in conjunction with a nursery rhyme telling how each of the ten 'soldiers' met his death until there were none. A mysterious voice accuses each of having gotten away with murder and then one drops dead---poisoned. One down and nine to go! The excitement never lets up in this remarkable thriller!
