Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center present a one-night-only salute to director Andrea Meyerson's first fim, Lauging Matters, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its release. The award-winning movie features the hilarious on-stage comedy acts of Kate Clinton, Marga Gomez, Suzanne Westenhoefer, and Karen Williams, as well as revealing one-on-one interviews. Laughing Matters has been broadcast on Here TV, Viacom's Logo Network, and Canada's Astral Network.

Released in late 2012,'Civil War Comes Home,' is a work of narrated non-fiction describing the lives of people from various walks of life here on the Peninsula as war arrives, battles rage, and Williamsburg is occupied. Told from the diverse perspectives of slaves, students, soldiers, and townspeople, 'Civil War Comes Home' chronicles what life was like in this small, sleepy Southern town. Theirs are stories of sacrifice, hardship, hope and perseverance. Reading about citizens' determination, fortitude and romance in the aftermath of pitched battle, emancipation of slaves, and federal occupation for the duration of the war are inspirational.

'Hold Back the Sun' relates the adventures and romances of two US Asiatic Fleet Lieutenants during the fall of the Philippines and Dutch East Indies early in the Pacific War. The book is filled with air and naval surface combat, paratroop operations, a trans-Pacific flight in a posh Pan Am flying boat, fast-paced wartime romance, and the scorched earth actions of the Dutch oil officials.
