The Apollo announced that it will officially open the doors to The Apollo Stages at the revitalized Victoria Theater on Thursday, February 1—marking the first physical expansion in the institution’s 90-year history.

It isn’t just the organizations - as cities and regions struggle with keeping their mass transit organizations afloat, this puts a further strain on theatre groups whose audiences and artists often rely on these methods of transportation to get to and from the theatre - as the San Francisco Chronicle reported this week.

On Monday, March 27, The Apollo’s Board Chair Charles E. Phillips announced that the 99-seat theater in The Apollo’s new Victoria Theater—which marks the first major expansion in the organization’s history—will be named after its current President & CEO Jonelle Procope.

The Apollo has announced that Fatima Jones has been named the organization’s first Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, effective immediately. Ms. Jones has been a part of the institution’s marketing and communications team since 2018.

The Apollo Theater has announced details of its fall/winter 2022 season titled The Next Movement. The Apollo has long been a place of dynamic energy and forward motion; this season, the theater honors that longstanding tradition through a series of performances and programs that look to the future.

In celebration of the Apollo’s Spring Benefit on Monday, June 13, the non-profit announced today it will release a limited edition non-fungible token commemorating the annual event. Approximately 400 NFTs will be issued  through Ticketmaster.
