ATOMIC COMIC - A Human Cartoon Fantasia, written by and starring Sara Toby Moore will be performed beginning Friday, June 30, 2023, with an opening night scheduled for Saturday, July 1. Additional performances will be on July 6, 7, and 8, 2023 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) All shows will be at 8:00 pm.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts received a $20,000 grant from the California Arts Council that will help support The Wallis School Partners Program, which provides the opportunity for students from K-12 schools within Los Angeles County to attend student matinee performances featuring some of the world class artists presented on The Wallis' stages. The program, which serves thousands of young people annually, provides opportunities for students to experience the best in the performing arts at the state-of-the-art venue, fostering growth through the arts. The Wallis School Partners Program is part of GRoW @ The Wallis, the umbrella for a robust mix of education and outreach programs at The Wallis.

International City Theatre's arts education programming is the grateful recipient of $34,200 in grant monies from the California Arts Council, with an $18,000 Artists in School award earmarked for ICT's Performing Arts Classroom Teaching program (PACT) and $16,200 in Youth Arts Action funds designated for the company's Summer Youth Conservatory.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Conservatory Director Melissa Smith announced today that honorary Master of Fine Arts degrees will be conferred upon playwright Lydia R. Diamond and Magic Theatre's outgoing artistic director Loretta Greco. Both recipients will receive their degrees at a virtual graduation ceremony for the A.C.T. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival today announced six new commissions as part of American Revolutions: the United States History Cycle, OSF's multi-decade program of commissioning and developing 37 new plays about moments of change in United States history. The commissioned artists are Zakiyyah Alexander, Jaclyn Backhaus, E. M. Lewis, Mary Katheryn Nagle, Sara Nović, and Sanaz Toossi.

Jo Schuman Silver, producer of Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon, announced today the nine Bay Area high school seniors selected as finalists for The Steve Silver Foundation and Beach Blanket Babylon "Scholarship for the Arts." Each of the finalists will perform live in front of family, friends, and a panel of celebrity judges on Monday, June 3. One winner in each category-singing, dancing, and acting-will be presented with a $15,000 check towards their college education. The nine high school senior finalists who will perform are:

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) will present the Zelda Fichandler Award to Loretta Greco, Artistic Director of the Magic Theatre, at a special ceremony hosted by Larry Goldfarb at Villa Taverna in San Francisco on January 31. The award was originally presented at an event in New York City on November 11, 2018 and accepted by Taylor Mac on Greco's behalf.

California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) Board President Jean Simpson today announced that Managing Director Susie Falk will be stepping down from her position at the end of the calendar year, after 14 years with the company. The Board has formed a Transition Task Force to oversee this important evolution in leadership for Cal Shakes.
