Creative Alternatives of New York (CANY), which uses drama therapy to help New York's most vulnerable children and adults, celebrated 30 years of the CANY mission of creativity, community and change to rebuild lives, on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Edison Hotel Ballroom. The 2013 Honorees were Tony Award winners Katie Finneran and Kathleen Marshall, and in memoriam, CANY Founding Chairperson, Janet L. Levy. Scroll below for photos from the event!

Creative Alternatives of New York Will be Presented With 2012 Aaron Stein Memorial Fund Award


Creative Alternatives of New York (CANY) will be honored with the 2012 Aaron Stein Memorial Fund Award by The American Group Psychotherapy Association during the Foundation sponsored Conference Luncheon on Saturday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m. at The Sheraton Towers. For nearly 30 years, CANY has helped children and adults across the New York metro area who have endured trauma to rebuild their lives through the use of drama therapy.

Tony Award-winner Dick Latessa, and Chairman of the Board, gathered Broadway stars to help raise funds for Creative Alternatives of New York (CANY) which uses theatre to help New York's most vulnerable children and adults. This year's annual gala, Broadway at the Boathouse...Ovation, was held at the Loeb Central Park Boathouse on Monday evening, May 16, 2011. The 2011 Honorees were Tony Award-winner Cady Huffman (The Producers) and Dr. Hillel Swiller, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
