New York City-based musician and singer Natalie Rose LeBrecht shared 'Holy,' a song that deftly brings together ambient, devotional music, spiritual jazz, and cosmic songwriting. It's the second and final pre-release single from her forthcoming full-length, Holy Prana Open Game.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Jim White, Paul Fonfara, and John Keane, the project continues Diaz’s overarching themes of family orientation and paying homage to her homeland, with her fear of forgetting cherished memories of Venezuela fueling the inspiration behind the reimagined renditions of the iconic folk songs.

Natalie Rose LeBrecht's recordings, from the teenage 4-track tapes she made as Greenpot Bluepot to the recent albums under her own name, have been fascinating dispatches from her progressively deeper dives into her gorgeous, weird, wildly idiomatic aesthetic. Holy Prana Open Game is a jewel of intensely personal cosmic music.

The track was recorded with Jim White at his house in Athens, GA, Jesse Magnum at The Glow Studio, also in Athens, and the Bomb Shelter in Nashville (Ben's hometown) with Drew Carroll engineering. Jim White produced the track, while the mixing and mastering was done by John Keane.

Following the release of her elemental new album Still, Here last year, luminary guitarist Marisa Anderson has announced international tour dates with Charlie Parr, Godspeed You! Joe's Pub, a program of The Public Theater, continues JOE'S PUB LIVE!, its free series of live-streamed and archived performances from their iconic stage in New York City. Designed to facilitate social connection during this time of physical distancing, Joe's Pub will share events with audiences worldwide each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8PM.

While Joe's Pub, a program of The Public Theater, remains closed to the public through May 31, 2020, it will continue to bring art and levity into homes across the world with JOE'S PUB LIVE! a free series of live-streamed and archived performances from their iconic stage in New York City.

Drummer Jim White and guitarist Marisa Anderson have announced their debut collaborative album The Quickening, out May 15th. The Quickening's first single 'The Lucky' speaks to the album's spontaneity, featuring an acoustic guitar Anderson picked up outside of Mexico City from a local luthier ahead of recording, on a whim. The duo will be touring the U.S. west and east coast throughout May and June, and plan to tour Europe in late 2020.

The Nine Seas, Fiona McBain (Ollabelle, The Big Bright, Then There Were Two) and Liz Tormes (solo artist, The Big Bright), will release their debut album, Dream of Me, on April 3, 2020. Dream of Me, a collection of 12 tracks featuring two spellbinding voices telling dark-hued stories, was co-produced by McBain and Tormes with southern American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Jim White. For Ben Markley's fourth recording, the fleet pianist/composer teams with New York tenor saxophone great Joel Frahm for a dynamic set of modern jazz originals. Though written specifically with the band of Frahm, drummer Jim White, and bassist Marty Kenny in mind, Markley continually finds inspiration from significant influences in his musical life, most notably Cedar Walton, Chick Corea and Bill Evans. With engaging and elevating support from Kenney and White, Markley and Frahm pop on the boogaloo ''Mon Back,' strike a Jazz Messengers-esque pose on the grooving 'Return of Catboy,' and strut on the half-time funk of the title tune. New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of educating and inspiring young musicians through its Orchestra, Jazz, Chamber Music, Composition, Musical Theater Composition, Apprenticeship Conducting, and First Music commissioning programs. This season includes seven world premieres of new works commissioned through the First Music program, composed for the Orchestra, Jazz, and Chamber Music ensembles. The season also features renowned and up-and-coming soloists including prodigy pianist Harmony Zhu, 2019 Sphinx Competition winner cellist Sterling Elliott, and leading young pianist Michelle Cann in the Carnegie Hall premiere of Florence Price's recently re-discovered Piano Concerto in One Movement with NYYS Orchestra, as well as in-demand drummer Matt Wilson, celebrated saxophonist Steve Wilson, and trombone virtuoso Wycliffe Gordon with NYYS Jazz.
