Breaking With Tradition Productions’ latest production Brothers Play by Matthew Doherty will open January 14, 2023, at Legacy LA (with one preview January 13th).  James Eckhouse directs the cast of Rob Nagle, Jeffrey Nordling and Jamie Wollrab. I had the opportunity to get some insight into Brothers Play from Jamie, as well as some of the many activities he has juggling in the air.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that a private reading was held last week for the Broadway-aimed musical Working Girl. The reading was presented Friday at Pearl Studios, and was presented by Cyndi Lauper, Theresa Rebeck and Christopher Ashley for producers Robyn Goodman, Josh Fiedler and Kumiko Yoshii.

Award-winning Broadway playwright Theresa Rebeck will write the book for the Broadway-aimed Working Girl. While she's had more plays produced on Broadway than any female playwright of our time, Working Girl would mark Rebeck's Broadway debut as a book writer for a musical.

LAB RESULTS: The Antaeus Playwrights Lab Festival a?" Six new plays by award-winning, mid-career writers get developmental readings over the course of two weekends as part of Antaeus Theatre Company's second annual LAB RESULTS series. Each of the plays was developed in the Antaeus Playwrights Lab, an ongoing program that incubates new works that provide compelling roles for actors and creates a nurturing and supportive artistic community.  Last fall, two plays from the 2018 LAB RESULTS festival, The Abuelas by Stephanie Alison Walker and Eight Nights by Jennifer Maisel, were given critically acclaimed full productions as part of Antaeus' 2019-20 season.

Producers Aged In Wood Productions (Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler) and Kumiko Yoshii have just announced that Tony Award-winner Christopher Ashley (Come From Away) will direct the Broadway-aimed Working Girl, with music and lyrics by Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winner Cyndi Lauper and book by screenwriter and playwright Bridget Carpenter ('11.22.63' and 'Friday Night Lights').

On the surface, in the tranquil seaside town of Monterey, California, everything seems the same. The mothers continue to dote, the husbands support, the children remain adorable and the houses are just as beautiful. But the night of the school fundraiser changed all that, leaving the community reeling, as the a?oeMonterey Fivea?? a?" Madeline, Celeste, Jane, Renata and Bonnie a?" bond together to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.

BIG LITTLE LIES returns Sunday, June 9 exclusively on HBO. The second season of this subversive, darkly comedic drama will explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode…the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.

Denis O'Hare Joins Cast Of Second Season Of BIG LITTLE LIES In Recurring Role

According to Deadline, P.J. Byrne is set to return to the hit HBO series BIG LITTLE LIES for the second season. He is returning in a reprisal of his role Principal Nippal. Byrne returns to the cast consisting of Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman, Adam Scott and Laura Dern, James Tupper, Jeffrey Nordling and Iain Armitage.
