Danny Wimmer Presents is proud to announce the 2024 lineup for the 4th annual Born & Raised Festival happening September 13-15 in Pryor, OK. The lineup, programmed specifically For The Outlaw In All Of Us, features headliners Cody Johnson, Hank Williams Jr., and Koe Wetzel on the mainstage alongside the very best of left-of-center country artists and bands who comfortably walk the line between outlaw, Americana, Red Dirt, and folk genres. Canary by Donald Wollner will be the first full production mounted by Playful Substance since Raphael Perahia's oddly prophetic Shelter in Place in the fall of 2019. 

I interviewed Peloton cycling instructor Sam Yo about his return to the stage and how he balanced performing in the production with teaching at Peloton.

'Peace Be With You,' a short film by Emerson College graduates Colmcille Donston (writer/director) and Georgie Hess (producer) that was filmed entirely on location in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, has been selected as part of the Boston Film Festival, which runs through Sept. 26.

Mountain Theatre Company released a music video for their upcoming production of BKLYN: THE MUSICAL featuring the show's hit song, 'Once Upon a Time.' The video, filmed in the company's first week of rehearsals, features an ensemble cast including Mackenzie Germain, Camille Capers, Jason Scott McLaughlin, Craig Smith, and Alyson Snyder. Watch ere!

Mixed Asian Media (Formerly known as Hapa Mag) will present their first annual Mixed Asian Media Fest (MAMF) September 18th-19th, 2021. In light of COVID-19, MAM Fest will be a virtual celebration of mixed Asian & Pacific Islanders, who express themselves through creative art forms.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee stars as Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha, a 16-year-old prodigy juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager. With the support of her caring and comical 'ohana (family) and friends, Lahela is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path.

Set in modern-day Hawai'i, 'Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.' is shot on location in O’ahu. Creator and executive producer Kourtney Kang ('How I Met Your Mother,' 'Fresh Off the Boat') who was born in Hawaii and raised in a Philadelphia suburb by her Irish mom and Korean dad, infuses her own life's stories and experiences into this series.

Born & Raised will also feature The BBQ Ranch, curated by legendary Pitmaster Wayne Mueller. Located within the festival grounds, this smokehouse experience will feature cooking demonstrations, a full cash bar, and mouth-watering smoked meat.

The show will run on a public YouTube stream; no special software or applications are needed for viewing. Audience members may be able to stream directly to television screens via smart TVs or services such as Fire TV and Roku and should check with their streaming provider for instruction.
