BroadwayWorld has learned the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta has announced their 2019/2020 season including three world premieres, including the new musical BECOMING NANCY directed by two-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Mitchell, two musicals, including MAYBE HAPPY ENDING directed by two-time Tony Award® nominee Michael Arden, and three productions for youth and families including the world premiere of  MAX MAKES A MILLION based on the book by Maira Kalman and adapted & directed by Liz Diamond.

Theatrical Outfit will enter a new era when Artistic Director Tom Key exits his longstanding position in June of 2020.  The Theatre's Board of Directors announced Key's plans to retire along with the announcement of the launch of a nationwide search to name his successor by the opening of the 2019-2020 season.

Theatrical Outfit continues its 2018-2019 Season of Beauty with the return of our smash holiday hit, Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, Decatur native Lauren Gunderson and co-writer Margot Melcon's sparkling and romantic sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. This year, four new actors join the cast - three of whom will make their Theatrical Outfit debuts. Tonya Lewis Lee and Nikki Silver's ToniK Productions' MONSTER to world premiere on Monday, January 22nd at 3PM in the Dramatic Competition of the 2018 Sundance Film Festival taking place from January 18 th-28 th, 2018 in Park City, Utah.

Sundance Institute showcases bold, independent storytelling at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, beginning with today's announcement of feature films selected across all categories. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 18 28.

Theatrical Outfit has received a grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Inc. in the amount of $150,000 over a two year period to support the general operations of the Organization. The downtown professional theatre received the exciting news on October 25th, and was presented with the check by James Tobias, Major Gifts Officer at the Community Foundation, on Thursday, November 16th. In attendance at the formal presentation were Theatrical Outfit Artistic Director Tom Key, TO Board Chair Stephanie Watkins, TO Trustees Tommy Barrow, Charlie Henn, and Margaret Murphy, TO Assoc. Artistic Director Clifton Guterman, and TO Director of Communications and Development Tess Malis Kincaid.

Atlanta professional theatre artists, producers and patrons gather to celebrate the 2016-2017 season of plays and musicals at the 13th Annual Suzi Bass Awards on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 7pm, doors open at 6pm.

The Alliance Theatre has announced the cast and creative team behind its upcoming production of Crossing Delancey, the play that led to the hit 1980s film about a young woman's search for fulfillment and her loveable, but overbearing Bubbie. 

This fall, Theatrical Outfit stages the Southeast premiere of Boy, a recent Off-Broadway hit play by Anna Ziegler inspired by a true story of gender reassignment, featuring Tom Key, Theatrical Outfit's Artistic Director, and Clifton Guterman, Theatrical Outfit's Associate Artistic Director, with direction by Melissa Foulger.

Imagine a prince. Now imagine Cinderella. Now imagine they are 13 year olds. That's basically the fun new spin on the familiar Cinderella story that Alliance Theatre is serving up with their world premiere of Cinderella and Fella, a charming little musical for children with a book by Janece Shaffer and music by S. Renee Clark. Under the direction of Rosemary Newcott, the talented cast aptly showcases the message of the play which is one that bears repeating: it's important to be kind.
