Regina Klenjoski Dance Company returns to Los Angeles with the West Coast Premiere of 'The Golden Apple' after a long-delayed homecoming.

Celebrating the small four-stringed wonder – the Ukulele – which has been captivating hearts and bringing musical joy into people’s lives for over 100 years, the Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival presented by Kala Koa Entertainment, returns the weekend of September 23-24, 2023, at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.

Catfood Records announces an August 1 release date for Hello Mojo!, the label debut from Chicago-based soul/blues belter Derrick Procell. 

Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present its annual Meet the Artist new play reading series on Wednesdays, May 4, 11, 18 and 25. All readings will take place at the Oakes Center at 7:30 pm.

Santa Cruz County Actors' Theatre was in full swing to return to live performances with the famed 8 Tens @ 8 Short Play Festival in January, when the fast spreading COVID-19 variant Omicron shut the production before it opened.

Santa Cruz County Actors’  Theatre returns to live performances after nearly two years of closure due to the pandemic. The 26th Annual 8 Tens @ 8 Short Play Festival opens January 14 and plays through February 6, at the Center Stage Theater in downtown Santa Cruz.

The cast has been announced for Punchy! The Musical, a brand new musical at The Courtyard Theatre. This raucous, affecting piece of gig-theatre brings the soulful sounds of the 1950s to the heart of Hoxton.  Robert Hook (Peaky Blinders, BBC; The Milkman's on His Way) will take on the lead role of the wayward and conflicted George 'Punchy' Armstrong.

Torrance Theatre Company presents NUNSENSE: THE MEGA-MUSICAL with music, lyrics, and book by Dan Goggin. The musical runs for two weekends August 13-21 at the James Armstrong Theater, 3330 Civic Center Drive in Torrance, 90503. This Spotlight focuses on Brandon Ferruccio, who started out an as actor only to discover his real passion was to direct plays, especially with all female casts or with a strong feminine lead character. He has directed many productions at Theatre Palisades, Westminster Playhouse, Whittier Community Theatre, The Warner Grand in San Pedro, El Camino College, and the James Armstrong Studio Theatre in Torrance. And soon he will be adding the Westchester Playhouse to the list of theaters in which he has directed productions.

When 27-year old Jocelyn Argueta was working her way through college, studying Biochemistry at the University of California, Irvine, she filled her little free time working and performing with Phantom Projects Theatre Group in La Mirada. As an older teen, she starred in shows confronting teen-oriented life topics such as bullying and racism. As a young adult she joined their tour of Charlotte's Web, where she portrayed colorful farmyard animals such as geese and pigs, all the while spending countless hours in the on-campus labs of UCI. Upon graduating with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Jocelyn's early career was founded in scientific research. She contributed with published work in the field of Neuroscience and as an inventor in allergy diagnostics.

The Torrance Theatre Company's production of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST features a live twelve-piece orchestra conducted to perfection by Bradley Hampton, and a cast of 44 actors from all over Southern California, who donate their time and talent to bring high-quality theatrical performances to Torrance and the South Bay. Assisted by a team of backstage wonder workers, from the stage hands to the costume and wig dressers, the cast is brilliantly led by brunette beauty Brianna Liddi as Belle and Christopher Tiernan who brings just the right mix of brutality and humanity to The Beast, highlighted during his Act 1 closing solo a?oeIf I Can't Love Her.'

First recorded in 1969, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT with music and lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, finally opened Off-Broadway in November 1981 and then moved to The Great White Way in January 1982 where the production received six Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, Book and Score. This ever-popular musical based on the a?oeCoat of Many Colorsa?? story from the Bible's Book of Genesis failed to win even one Tony, but has gone on to be one of the most popular, family-friendly stories with actors of all ages involved in the big-scale production performed around the world. Now being presented as the 40th production by The Aerospace Players, directed by John Woodcock and Angela Asch (who also choreographed the show), the dedicated (and all volunteer) cast features stand-out performances by many in the leading roles who make the story as fun to watch as it is entertaining.
