The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) announces plans for a LIFETIME network docu-series following their win at the New York Television Festival. The pilot was entered in A&E's independent pilot competition and came out of the festival as the winner of the Lifetime development deal. Watch this two-and-a-half minute long piece on BDF.

'C.O.A.L.' is now onstage at 59E59 through Sunday, March 22nd. This thought provoking piece of theater is an interesting exploration of the lies that people tell to protect themselves and harsh realities. The show is written by David Brian Colbert, directed by Craig Baldwin and is wonderfully performed by the four person cast.

The Philadelphia stop of the Motown tour was particularly special for three of the smash-hit musical's cast members, Rodney Earl Jackson, Melanie Evans, and Galen Williams. All three performers met as students of the Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), a national non-profit performing arts training program, at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Through BDF the students were able to hone their performance skills, working alongside Broadway directors, choreographers. They also had the opportunity to make valuable connections with industry insiders, including casting directors Craig Burns and Rachel Hoffman, whose firm Telsey + Company cast the Motown tour.

Broadway dreams will come true for 47 young, aspiring performers when they take the stage to perform in The Broadway Dreams Foundation's 'Take It to the Limit' NYC Showcase at Queen of the Night at the Diamond Horseshoe (Paramount Hotel, 235 W 46th Street) on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Under the direction of acclaimed director/choreographer Otis Sallid (Smokey Joe's Cafe, Black Nativity), all 47 students will perform for the Broadway industry's top casting directors, agents, directors, and producers in the heart of New York City.

On Monday, December 9, 2013, The Broadway Dreams Foundation held its third annual holiday gala, "Night of Dreams," at Celsius, a restaurant, bar and event space within the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park. At this one of a kind urban winter wonderland in of the heart of midtown Manhattan, Broadway's brightest stars and patrons of the arts joined together for a festive celebration of the country's premier musical theatre training program.

Last night, November 14, Second Stage opened its much-anticipated production of Little Miss Sunshine. This new musical comedy is based on the film of the same name by Michael Arndt. It was adapted for the stage by Tony Award-winning team James Lapine, who wrote the book, and William Finn, who wrote the lyrics and music. Little Miss Sunshine's run has now been extended through Dec 15. BroadwayWorld was there for all of the opening night festivities and you can check out photos from the after party below!

The Broadway Dreams recently made their west coast debut last week at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. The week-long Summer Performing Arts Intensive culminated in a performance of CIRCLE OF DREAMS, a unique Broadway concert event featuring performances by Broadway favorites including Shoshana Bean (Wicked), Craig D'Amico (Annie Get Your Gun), Quentin Earl Darrington (Ragtime), Andrew Palermo (Wicked), Nicole Parker (MadTV,Wicked), Ryann Redmond (Bring It On: The Musical) and more alongside a talented roster of Los Angeles area BDF students. For awhile now, we have been receiving press materials and hearing about The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), but never witnessed the group first-hand. Well, that all changed this past Saturday night, in Philadelphia, when we decided to go to the Kimmel Center and see the 2011 Summer-Intensive weekend showcase, this year titled TRUE COLORS. I can honestly say that our jaws dropped. Directed and hosted by the newest addition to their impressive faculty line-up, Richard Jay-Alexander, the evening was like watching a skillfull PLAYLIST of Broadway 'gold' and 'showstoppers.' Two ACTS worth!
