BWW Reviews: The Ensemble Theatre's IMMEDIATE FAMILY is Comedic and Touching
Before Thursday's opening night performance of Paul Oakley Stovall's IMMEDIATE FAMILY, The Ensemble Theatre's Artistic Director Eileen J. Morris explained that their 37th season is all about creating magical moments within productions and within the community of their ever-growing audience base. Creating the first of many magical moments for the evening, she then proudly asserted that the E in ensemble stands for everyone, welcoming every member of the opening night audience to the theatre. Following suit, the heartwarming family-centered comedy IMMEDIATE FAMILY left audiences rolling in the aisles while exploring the importance of family and the power and beauty of acceptance, love, and understanding that members of our chosen and biological families can offer us.

Houston Area Students Present AMAZING GRACE, Now thru 2/17
Eleven students of Main Street Theater's Education Department explore the very real issues of discrimination and perseverance in the play Amazing Grace by Shay Youngblood, adapted from the book by Mary Hoffman. There are 3 public performances: tonight and Saturday, February 15 and 16, at 7:30pm, and Sunday, February 17 at 3:30pm. BWW Reviews: THE NACIREMA SOCIETY - Fun, Funny & Touching Romantic Comedy
In Houston, The Ensemble Theatre is proudly opening its 36th season with Pearl Cleage's THE NACIREMA SOCIETY REQUESTS THE HONOR OF YOUR PRESENCE AT A CELEBRATION OF THEIR FIRST ONE HUNDRED YEARS, often shorted to THE NACIREMA SOCIETY. The play premiered to fantastic audience reception on October 20, 2010 at Alliance Theatre at the Woodruff in Atlanta, Georgia, and The Ensemble Theatre's production makes it very easy to see why it was so well received.

Alan Ayckbourn's rarely seen comedy My Wonderful Day fuses all of these characters together. My Wonderful Day opens tonight, May 24 and runs through June 17 at Main Street Theater.
