20 years after Hairspray opened on Broadway, Tony winner Marissa Jaret Winokur is once again channeling Tracy Turnblad in Santa Bootcamp. BroadwayWorld caught up with Winokur to discuss working with Rita Moreno in the new film, how they 'doubled down on Christmas,' Hairspray's 20th anniversary, and more.

Tony winners Rita Moreno and Marissa Jaret Winokur have joined the cast of Lifetime's upcoming holiday original film, Santa Bootcamp. Directed by Melissa Joan Hart, the film will also star Emily Kinney, Justin Gaston, and deaf actors Deanne Bray and Zyra Singleton.

Now, the show premieres tonight on Stellar at 5:30 PT/8:30 ET and will be available through June.

Her new album, The Supporting Character, continues in this vein, highlighting her maturity as a musician while also shining a light on the aspects of her life that she is still learning to navigate.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced that Bay Street's Director of Education & Community Outreach, Allen O'Reilly, appears in a new film, The Enormity of Life, scheduled for worldwide release on Tuesday, April 6.

'This was a very powerful and challenging project from script to screen. It's always a risk when you're dealing with such polarizing subjects but hopefully, this film can help encourage communication in regards to mental illness and seeking help,' said Breckin Meyer.

“Fifteen Minutes” was born out of an idea Kinney had of the song being performed as a ballet dance and how, metaphorically, her personal fears are represented within her own impending performance.

Written after attending the funeral of her uncle in her home state of Nebraska, “Omaha Hotel” is an examination of life and experiences Kinney’s had through the lens of being a busy actor.
