Four directors who have helmed some of Antaeus Theatre Company’s most acclaimed productions will take on a mix of modern and classic theater as part of the company’s upcoming season.
Tony Award Winning Actress, Trezana Beverley, will take the title role of King Lear at Southwest Shakespeare, making her first appearance in Arizona in this iconic role. Beverley, who will perform KING LEAR as a man, was the first African-American actress to receive a Tony Award.
Actor and Stage Director, Gregg Daniel performs as 'Claudius' in the Antaeus Theatre production of Hamlet alongside his real life spouse Veralyn Jones, who plays the Queen 'Gertrude.' Directed by Shakespearean expert, Elizabeth Swain and featuring long-time company member Ramón de Ocampo, Hamlet is set to run May 20, 2022 and continue through June 20, 2022 at the Kiki & David Gindler Performing Arts Center in Glendale, California.
Antaeus Theatre Company returns to in-person performance with a new production of Hamlet, directed by Shakespearean expert Elizabeth Swain and featuring long-time company member Ramón de Ocampo in the title role. Classical Theatre Lab will bring a costumed online reading of William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. The performances premiere online on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 2 p.m.
This Spotlight focuses on Bill Brochtrup who rose to TV stardom as PAA John Irvin on the ABC television drama NYPD Blue and continues to dazzle audiences as an actor, most recently in the Ovation Award-wining DANIEL'S HUSBAND at the Fountain Theatre, and planning programming for the Antaeus Theatre Company in Glendale as its Artistic Director. And when he can find the time, Bill enjoys traveling around the world and hiking in some of the most beautiful places on Earth.

The Kingsmen Shakespeare Company will kick off its 22nd year with its first staging of 'The Two Noble Kinsmen' under the direction of a newcomer to the festival who has nearly 40 years of experience.
It contains possibly the last words William Shakespeare ever wrote and chances are you've never seen a production of it. THE TWO NOBLE KINSMEN was written around 1613 but not published until 1634, and is attributed to both Shakespeare and John Fletcher, the man who would succeed him as resident playwright for the King's Men (named for the company's benefactor, King James I). Kingsmen Shakespeare Company's production is the perfect opportunity to see it for the first time.

A unique combination of Harold Pinter's Betrayal and an extremely condensed version of Shakespeare's Othello, creatively adapted by Liza Seneca (of Antaeus), to mimic the reverse structure of 'Betrayal.' Elizabeth Swain (also from Antaeus), will direct. The show will open June 1st, 2018, at Theatre 68's MainStage Theatre.
