Since its 2016 reenvisioning, there's been little in the way of new surprises, but that's what traditions are all about: passing down an experience and, hopefully, maintaining the integrity of that experience. Milwaukee Repertory Theater's holiday classic A Christmas Carol returns to the historic Pabst Theater November 27 - December 24, 2018.  Adapted by Artistic Director Mark Clements, A Christmas Carol is a tale of love, hope and redemption with just the right blend of beautiful music, lively dancing, stunning sets and eye-popping special effects to fill any sized stocking hung by the chimney with care. 

This is a story of family and feeling, with a fanciful little twist. Go if you like the thought of pondering the boxes we put ourselves in-what we believe can or can't be true for us, based on imaginary constructs. Outside Mullingar dares us to challenge those boxes and live knowing that "Life is here! We name it!"

Milwaukee Repertory Theater announces the return of the popular One Day Sale for the hit adaptation of the holiday favorite A Christmas Carol on Monday, July 23. 

The true selling point of this production is not so much a reimmersion in Orwell's masterpiece as a reminder, if we needed reminding, of the collective nausea that overtakes us in one of those periodic moments when totalitarian assaults on truth, justice and human dignity are winning.

Bleak. Cold. Apocalyptic. Even before the house lights dimmed, the mood was already dreary. The stage is laden with a mess of concrete, metal, and a visual manifestation of shattered dreams for what would be a rather brain-wrenching, hope-dashing 90 minutes. Of course, that's just what Orwell's novel is meant to convey.

Leading the cast of Animal Farm will be Milwaukee Rep Associate Artists Jonathan Gillard Daly (Man of La Mancha andMousetrap) as Benjamin/Pilkington and Deborah Staples (A Christmas Carol and Harvey) as Clover. Rounding out the cast is Milwaukee native Brendan Titley (Penguin Rep Theatre's Trayf) as Snowball/Minimus, Melvin Abston(Broadway's Sister Act) as Napoleon, Tiffany Rachelle Stewart (Broadway's A Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night-time) as Squealer/Mollie and Stephanie Weeks (Tennessee Shakespeare Company's A Midsummer Night's Dream) as Boxer/Major.
