Darius J. Manuel is a whimsical and ferociously energetic Theater Artist who creates innovative, thought-provoking work in an adventurously quirky and motivationally sassy way. He was most recently seen on the Broadway National Tour of "ELF The Musical". Select Credits include: Kiss Me, Kate (Paul), Marie Christine (Paris). Philadelphia's Main Street Musical Festival. Represented by Luedtke Agency. Darius also enjoys teaching and directing younger performers and has a standing relationship with The Florida Children's Theatre where he has been nomitated for the 2016 BroadwayWorld (Miami) award for "Best Director of a Musical" and "Best Choreographer" for Carrie the Musical and the production was nominated for the BroadwayWorld (Miami) award for "Best Musical". Other directing credits: Snow White, Tom Sawyer, My Son Pinocchio Jr., Aladdin Jr., The Wiz (Florida Children's Theatre); Next To Normal, Pretty Hurts: A Beyoncé Jukebox Musical, Off I Go, Shadowland: A Villainous Disney Revue (The University of the Arts). Slow Burn Theatre Company to Stage HEAD OVER HEELS

Slow Burn Theatre Company and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts invite audiences to Head Over Heels, the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening, from June 10-26, 2022. The musical is presented by American National Bank and sponsored by the Josephine S. Leiser Foundation and Funding Arts Broward, Inc. (FAB!).  Set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s and featuring a book by Jeff Whitty and adaptation by James Magruder, this laugh-out-loud love story is directed by Patrick Fitzwater.

Darius J. Manuel to Compete in NSAL National Drama Competition

Darius J. Manuel dazzled the judges at the NSAL Florida East Coast Drama Competition held recently at The Crest Theatre at Old School Square. Darius won the $2,000 first prize and an all-expense paid trip to compete at the NSAL National Drama Competition in Washington, D.C. Manuel lives in Lauderhill and is the Teaching Artist/Director of the Florida Children's Theatre in Fort Lauderdale.
