Bucks County Playhouse has announced final casting for the world premiere production of the new musical-comedy adventure, 'Other World.' The musical, which celebrates the ability to find heroes in unexpected places, begins performances at the Playhouse on March 13 and run through April 11 with an official opening night on March 28.

Last night Broadway stars and student Thespians shared the stage at Edison Ballroom for the 5th Broadway Back to School Gala supporting the Educational Theatre Foundation.  The event honoring Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's dedication to educational theatre featured some of the biggest names in Broadway, including legends Chita Rivera and Patti LuPone, host Laura Benanti, John Cariani, Gavin Creel, Evan Ruggiero, Carla Stickler, Alex Stone, and J. Harrison Ghee who appeared as Crystal Demure.

The Broadway Back to School gala honored Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at the Edison Ballroom. Shaiman and Wittman received the Broadway Back to School Award recognizing their impact as key leaders in the theatrical industry and education in building access and excellence in school theatre. The gala is a benefit for the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF) which provides financial support for theatre education programs for schools in need.

OTHER WORLD, a new musical with an original score and story by Tony Award Nominee Hunter Bell (book), Obie Award winner Jeff Bowen (music and lyrics), and singer-songwriter and author Ann McNamee (music and lyrics) will have an invitation-only developmental lab presentation on Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16 at Jerome Robbins Theatre at Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 W. 37th Street.

The Halloween season comes with a lot of tricks and treats. Well, we got the ultimate treat on October 26th, just days before Wicked's 14th anniversary (aka Wicked Day), as well celebrated our 3rd annual ELPHA-BALL! A coven of actresses who have defied gravity in Wicked as Elphaba joined to hare witchy songs and stories from their time in Oz. Mamie Parris (Graizabella in Cats), Caroline Bowman, Laurel Harris (Beautiful), Julie Reiber (Come From Away) and Carla Stickler blew the roof of The Beechman. Tonight, October 26th, BROADWAY SESSIONS offers its 3rd annual ELPHABALL, a night celebrating the ladies who have portrayed one of the most iconic roles in contemporary muscle theater, Elphaba!

A standing room only crowd packed Feinstein's/54 Below on Sunday for the third annual International Thespian Society alumni benefit concert. The event, produced by the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), home of the International Thespian Society, was chaired and hosted by Hunter Bell ( title of show , Found).

An invitation-only reading of the new musical Other World will take place on Thursday, March 9 (2:30pm) and Friday, March 10 (11:00am) at the Lyric Theatre Studios (Lyric Theatre - Studio A, 214 West 43rd Street, NY, NY 10036).  Other World features a book by Hunter Bell, music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and Ann McNamee, and will be directed by Gabriel Barre.
