Asolo Rep Presents Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS


Asolo Rep proudly kicks off its winter repertory season with Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. The classic edge-of-your-seat murder mystery will be brought to the stage with a new adaptation by two-time Tony Award-winning master of farce Ken Ludwig and directed by Asolo Rep Associate Artist Peter Amster. MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS previews January 8 and 9, opens January 10 and runs in rotating repertory through March 8 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. 

FSU/Asolo Conservatory Presents AS YOU LIKE IT In The Selby Gardens


The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training concludes its season with Shakespeare's classic romantic comedy, As You Like It. The show, which features the entire class of second-years, is directed by Jonathan Epstein and performed outdoors in the stunning Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. The production previews on Tuesday, April 9 at 8pm with a special pay-what-you-can show, offering tickets at whatever price patrons can afford when purchased the day of the performance, at a minimum of $3 per seat. The show officially opens on Wednesday, April 10 at 8pm, and runs through Saturday, April 27.  Performances will run Tuesday through Saturday.

FSU/Asolo Conservatory Alum Directs Next Show RECKLESS


The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training continues its season with Craig Lucas' dark, zany comedy, Reckless. A cast of seven will play 22 different characters. Directed by Brendan Ragan, FSU/Asolo Conservatory alum and founding Artistic Director of Urbanite Theatre in Sarasota, Reckless runs February 20 - March 10 in the Cook Theatre, with a pay-what-you-can preview night on Tuesday, February 19. Tickets are $30.

FSU/Asolo Conservatory's Presentation Of GHOSTS Will Kick Off The New Year!


This January, the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training will present Henrik Ibsen's haunting work of drama, "Ghosts", directed by Andrei Malaev-Babel. In rain-soaked 19th century Norway, Mrs. Alving is desperately trying to maintain her late husband's positive reputation despite his personal flaws. She sends her son far away to be educated and builds an orphanage dedicated to the late and "great" Captain Alving. But when Osvald returns home for the dedication, secrets from the past come to light and the truth cannot be unseen. Mrs. Alving's hopes for Osvald and the orphanage are dashed as the fateful night unravels. A cast of five will perform "Ghosts" in the Cook Theatre, January 2 - 20 with a pay-what-you-can preview night on New Years Day (January 1, 2019). Tickets are $30.

FSU/asolo Conservatory Debuts The Season With Tom Stoppard's ARCADIA


The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training will kick off its 2018-19 season with Tom Stoppard's timeless masterpiece, Arcadia. Second-year Conservatory students bring to life the story of a young genius and her private tutor caught in an epic game of lost-and-found between two centuries. Part mystery and part love story, Arcadia pits elegance and poetry against the cold certainties of science and physics and brings to question the determinability of the universe. Arcadia will be performed in the Cook Theatre, October 31 - November 18 with a preview night October 30. Tickets are $30. 

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Opens at FSU/Asolo Conservatory 4/18


The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training concludes its 2017-18 season with William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing: a classical comedy about two intellectual sparring partners, whose individual pride masks their true love. Much Ado About Nothing opens on Wednesday, April 18 and plays through May 5 at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota. A special pay-what-you-can preview performance will be offered to the public on Tuesday, April 17 at 8:00 p.m. with a $3 minimum. Much Ado About Nothing is made possible with support from the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Sarasota Observer, and WUSF Public Media.
