Cape Town Opera presents a Puccini double-bill of operas: SUOR ANGELICA and GIANNI SCHICCHI. Each opera runs for just under an hour, with an interval in between. The two operas are vastly different – SUOR ANGELICA, despite containing comedic moments, is ultimately tragic.

South Africa has an exciting new musical on the way and audiences have the chance to be part of it.

Having also played host to The Mandela Trilogy opera and new musical Only The Brave, it seems that the Wales Millennium Centre seems to be making a name for itself when it comes to mounting new productions. In its latest venture: Tiger Bay The Musical audiences are transported back to Cardiff in the 1900's, celebrating the heritage and events that shaped it into the city we know today, all woven together with a score by local composer Daf James and an array of Welsh talent in its cast.

Wales Millennium Centre has announced the full cast for brand new production Tiger Bay the Musical which has its world premiere at the iconic venue from 13 25 November with opening night for press on Wednesday 15 November.

The Young Vic is teaming up with the Royal Opera House, the Repons Foundation and the Isango Ensemble to bring a musical inspired by one refugee's true story to the Baxter Theatre Centre's Flipside venue this August. A MAN OF GOOD HOPE is based on the book by Jonny Steinberg and has been adapted for the stage by the Isango Ensemble under the direction of Mark Dornford-May.

Magic, mischief and music collide to mesmerizing effect when Isango Ensemble's Off-Broadway premiere of A Midsummer Night's Dream: Iphupha lobusuku be-Ntwasahlobo comes to the stage at The New Victory Theater from October 30 - November 8. After a sold-out run of The Magic Flute: Impempe Yomlingo last season, Cape Town's acclaimed opera company returns to the New Vic for a limited engagement of their newest production with the generous support of official Presentation Partner South African Tourism.

The Metropolitan Opera may have its spectacular Julie Taymor production of THE MAGIC FLUTE, but the real fun in town is the Mozart at the new Victory Theatre on West 42nd Street, where the South African Isango Ensemble is in residence.

A new production of The Mysteries - Yiimimangaliso, the musical that has been seen by audiences of over 250,000 worldwide, will return to London for twenty five performances only at the Garrick Theatre from 11 September - 3 October, with press night on 15 September.
