Girl From the North Country is currently in previews at Broadway's Belasco Theatre, and opens on March 5. Broadwayworld.com caught up with New Jersey's own, Brigid Harrington, the 18-year old Broadway actress, singer and dancer. She will soon be starting her Freshman year studies at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana where she will double major in FilmTVTheatre and Political Science, with a minor in Voice. We had the opportunity to learn about her career and some of her plans for the future.

For those who didn't have the opportunity to meet the cast of fourteen in East Lynne Theater Company's 'Ah, Wilderness!' at the after-show party at The Merion Inn, another chance is to be had on Friday, August 4 at an after-show Q&A.  It's a wonderful opportunity for patrons to ask the actors and  director such questions as how characters are created, what goes into selecting a season of plays, and where they have previously worked.  Actors in this production have a variety of backgrounds, including performing in regional theater, film and on Broadway, and are ages 12 on up.

'The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayam!'  That's the best of all!  'A jug of wine, a loaf of bread, and thou beside me singing in the wilderness,' announces seventeen-year old Richard, defending his choice of literature to his parents. His letters to seventeen-year-old Muriel contain quotes from Khayam and Swinburne.

The cast has been set for the reading of Charlie Zicari's new coming-of-age screenplay, 'HEDGES,' which will be presented at Shetler Studios on July 11th.

Skyline Theatre Company, Bergen County's most established professional theatre company and in residence at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center in Bergen County's Fair Lawn, holds its annual gala and fundraiser on Monday, April 11 at 7:00pm featuring an evening of performances from stars of current Broadway hit musicals.

The Emerging Artists Theatre will be presenting ONCE 'ROUND THE CIRCLE as part of their New Work Series at the TADA! Theatre on Sunday, March 13th at 7pm.

Sisters Brigid Harrington (Jane Banks, Mary Poppins - Broadway) and Shannon Harrington (Susan Waverly, Irving Berlin's White Christmas - Broadway National Tour and Scout in the upcoming Queens Theatre production of To Kill a Mockingbird) along with Cheryl Ann McCullagh (Jenny, Three Penny Opera - Kupferberg Arts Center) recorded Once 'Round the Circle-a musical in one act by Shanan Estreicher this past summer at Avatar Studios.

On Dec. 1st at Playwright's Horizons, the Huntington's Disease Society of America, Greater NY Chapter held their annual Curtains Up For A Cure concert & silent auction with proceeds benefitting Huntington's Disease research. The concert was Produced by Meredith Patterson, who (among other Broadway credits) originated the role of Judy Haynes on Broadway in Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Ms. Patterson reprised her role last year in the 2013 Broadway National Tour.

With attendance totaling nearly four million guests, the show has been seen by more people in the last six years than any Broadway show except Wicked and The Lion King.
