Ancram Center for the Arts has announced its 2024 season, an eclectic mix of productions and collaborations that will feature three new works developed during Ancram Center's Summer Play Lab residencies.

Last night, Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre reopened with Live at The New Am: A Benefit Concert for The Actors Fund, marking one of the first events on Broadway since the shutdown and the first Broadway performance to hire actors on an Equity contract, the union of Broadway performers. Jose Solís, Alicia Ramírez and Juan Michael Porter II have a lot in common. All three are passionate about the performing arts and have written theatre articles and reviews for prestigious publications. They are also accustomed to often being some of the few non-white audience members at shows—but that is something they're actively working to change.

Aubrey Lynch has been appointed Dean of Faculty and Student Affairs for the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. Rubén Martín has been appointed Principal Teacher for the School and Caridad Martinez has been appointed as faculty member.

This year's Harlem School of the Arts (HSA), HSA@Home, Summer Dance Experience has begun. The organization has one of the best all-around dance programs in the country, and the Intensive, introduced two years ago, has fast risen to the top of in-demand summer programs.

The New York City public school students who participated in the TDF Wendy Wasserstein Project this academic year attended a virtual celebration on Monday, June 8 at 4 p.m. on YouTube.

In response to the city's new reality of social distancing, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) on Monday, March 30, launched HSA@HOME. Working together, the administrative and teaching staff have quickly adapted many of the classes, normally taught under the roof of the cultural hub's 37,000-square foot facility, to an online platform using ZOOM.

On Tuesday, December 17th Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater reveals the company premiere of Camille A. Brown's City of Rain. This quietly lyrical piece honors the struggles and grace of a deceased friend, showing a different facet of the choreographer than Ailey audiences have seen in her previous works for the Company. Dedicated to Greg 'Blyes' Boomer, the work for 10 dancers is set to an original composition by Jonathan Melville Pratt entitled Two Way Dream. A recipient of numerous honors, including a 2014 Bessie Award for Outstanding Production for the work Mr. TOL. E. RAncE (Camille A. Brown & Dancers), Ms. Brown choreographed Broadway's Choir Boy (TONY nominee for Best Choreography), the TONY Award-winning revival of Once On This Island, and the Emmy Award-winning television special, Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. On Tuesday, December 10th, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater continues its holiday season with a celebration of The Ailey School's 50th anniversary, honoring its standard of excellence for providing exceptional training to more than 3,500 students annually. This special evening features students performing alongside the Company in Alvin Ailey's Memoria and Revelations.

The Harlem School of the Arts' (HSA) dance director, Aubrey Lynch, today announced that the world-famous Radio City Rockettes will help to prepare the young precision dance ensemble, The Harlemettes, for their December 19th, 7:00 pm appearance at the Kaye Playhouse, located at 695 Park Avenue, NYC 10065.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater announces programming for a historic night at Ailey celebrating Associate Artistic Director Masazumi Chaya on Sunday, December 22nd at 7:30pm at New York City Center. Previously, Robert Battle, Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, shared the news that the Company's beloved mainstay for nearly five decades, Mr. Chaya, intends to retire on January 5, 2020, at the conclusion of the Company's New York City Center season. Having joined the Company in 1972 as a dancer, Mr. Chaya performed under Mr. Ailey's direction for 15 years, subsequently assumed responsibility for rehearsing the Company-a role for which Mr. Ailey had cultivated him-and for more than 28 years, as Associate Artistic Director, has maintained the repertoire, handled innumerable creative decisions, and guided generations of the Company's dancers.

Clark Center NYC continues its series of events celebrating the 60th anniversary of the initial founding of the Clark Center for the Performing Arts.

TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts has just completed its 23rd year of school programs with the end of the 2018-19 school year.

Over 400 guests including current and past New York City high school students and their mentors who have participated in the TDF Wendy Wasserstein Project, the theatre arts mentoring program, (formerly called "Open Doors"), that TDF founded in 1998 with playwright Wendy Wasserstein, will attend this year's graduation ceremony at 5:30pm on Monday, June 3at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College (524 West 59th Street, NYC). The graduation ceremony will open with a performance by Aisha Jackson who covers the role of Anna in Disney's Frozen.

This year's Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) Masquerade Ball and After Party, an annual benefit gala in support of the 54-year-old arts organization, surpassed expectations once again by raising over a million dollars, for the second year in a row. The event was held at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, and was hosted by Fox 5's very own, Lori Stokes who shared the podium with co-host, 9-year-oldJayden Hairston, one of HSA's outstanding student ambassadors.

The first installation of the Contemporary Dance Series, curated by Tiffany Rea-Fisher (which runs Fridays from June 22-July 20 at 6pm) kicked-off with a strong start on the debut evening with performances from Harlem School of the Arts, AThomasProject, Eryc Taylor Dance and Graham 2.
