Last Thursday, we noticed that an engagement was quietly added to the schedule of London's famed The Crazy Coqs at Brasserie Zedel. The announcement was for a debut of Amy Shaughnessy, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. We knew nothing about it, so, since both are friends of BroadwayWorld, we reached out.

Cabaret At The Merc will host its first evening dedicated to the ukulele with 'It's All About Uke!' on November 16th. Performances will span the life of the timeless instrument, from its popularization with catchy 1920 tunes to the hits of today! Performances will highlight the ukulele's versatility, including musical theatre pieces from shows like Broadway's Bonnie and Clyde to originals tunes, and even a hip take on Michael Jackson's Thriller. Audience members will be encouraged to sing along with the upbeat final number, and are sure to leave the theatre with a bounce in their step. It will be a feel-good, happy time not to be missed!

At this annual solstice ritual, the Paul Winter Consort celebrates the first sunrise of summer within the vast acoustics of the world's largest cathedral, New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Three Boston theatre companies will engage in a landmark local collaboration this fall to produce breakout writer Annie Baker's first three plays - CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION, produced by the Huntington Theatre Company (October 15 - November 14), BODY AWARENESS, produced by SpeakEasy Stage Company (October 22 - November 20), and THE ALIENS, produced by Company One (October 29 - November 20). All set in the fictional town of Shirley, VT, the plays will run together in the first-ever festival dedicated to the work of this wryly observant young writer, which will be curated by the Huntington Theatre Company.
