Netflix has released the trailer for Shirley, a new biopic starring Regina King and featuring Tony-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell. The film also stars Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Christina Jackson, Michael Cherrie, Dorian Crossmond Missick, Amirah Vann, W. Ruth B. releases the music video for the stunning song 'Paper Airplanes,' from the Tyler Perry film 'A JAZZMAN BLUE'S.' You probably best know Ruth B. from her massive worldwide #1 hit “Lost Boy.” Her Platinum certified single “Dandelions” was and is still a major viral hit on TikTok and IG Reels.

The Golden Theatre was the place to be last night as Suzan-Lori Parks' Pulitzer Prize-winning Topdog/Underdog officially opened on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon, it stars Emmy Award-winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Candyman) and Tony Award-nominee Corey Hawkins (In the Heights, The Tragedy of Macbeth). The best of Broadway was at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Thursday, where The Piano Lesson, directed by Tony Award nominee LaTanya Richardson Jackson and starring Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks, opened on Broadway. The performance will take place at Roy Thomson Hall and marks the live debut of 'Paper Airplanes,' which multi-platinum artist Ruth B. and two-time Academy Award nominee / 5-time Grammy winner Terence Blanchard wrote and recorded specifically for A JAZZMAN'S BLUES. The track was produced by Oscar and Grammy winning producer, D'Mile and Ruth B.

Written, directed and produced by Academy Award honoree Tyler Perry, the film stars Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer as star-crossed lovers Bayou and Leanne alongside an ensemble cast that includes Amirah Vann, Austin Scott, Milauna Jemai Jackson, Brent Antonello, Brad Benedict, Kario Marcel, Lana Young and Ryan Eggold. 'Queen Sugar” will return to OWN this fall for its seventh and final season boasting a directorial line-up of returning all-star directors, including creator and executive producer Ava DuVernay. From ARRAY Filmworks and Warner Bros. Television, the series has started production on the final episode in and around New Orleans.
