Founder Margaret Irwin-Brandon is proud to present the World Premiere Music of the Harpsichord, with"DESERT BAROQUE'S THE SUITE LIFE". Three unique concerts celebrating Internationally renowned harpsichordists on January 20, 21, and 22, 2017, in addition to attending Workshop/Master-classes being held around the Coachella Valley.

Friday, January 20, 7:00 pm: "The Graces Danced, And Apollo Play'd"

Gilbert Martinez, Director of Music Sources, Berkeley, California, and resident artist in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The evening will feature music of William Byrd, Orlando Gibbons, Melchior Schildt, Louis Couperin, Johann Jacob Froberger and Jean-Philippe Rameau, stretching through two centuries at the heart of the golden age of the harpsichord. Saturday, January 21st, 7:00 pm: "The More, The Merrier!"

Concertos for Two, Three and Four Harpsichords, with String Band and harpsichordists Sonia Lee, Charles Metz, Elaine Funaro, Webb Wiggins, and Margaret Irwin-Brandon. Buon Tempi Quartet, including Bridget Dolkas (Violin), Alice Wrate (Violin), Krista Haslim (Viola), Lars Hoefs (Cello), and Steven Lehning (violone & contrabass).

The vivacious chamber musicians of Buon Tempi delight audiences with their musical passion and gusto. Their performances are infused with excitement and virtuosity, and they share a deep love for communicating the story of the music they are performing.

Sunday, January 22nd, 2:00 pm: "From Baroque To Beyond"

Of prize-winning contemporary compositions and favorites from the Baroque, Foremost performer of new works, Elaine Funaro, harpsichord, with selected participants from "The Suite Life" workshops.

"THE SUITE LIFE" WORKSHOPS/MASTER CLASSES

Each day of the three-day weekend supports a workshop on the various dance movements which populate the suites, familiar form of music in the Baroque. Participants perform, discuss, engage with each other, facilitated by one or more of the artist-performers for the weekend. Applicants may register for the entire weekend, or any single workshop. Locations in various spaces across the Valley.
