Perfect partners make for great Brahms: Amanda and Pinchas combine for the titanic Double Concerto in a musical give-and-take in which drama and passion abound. Then Maestro Zukerman and frequent collaborator, Yefim Bronfman, join forces in the near-symphonic Piano Concerto No. 2. Full of nobility, lyricism, and brilliance, it is also monstrously challenging to perform, demanding interpretive power and sheer stamina. And, as he does so often, Brahms tips his hat to the gypsy music he loved.
