Surfside Players announces its production of an American classic: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, based on the novel by Harper Lee, dramatized by Christopher Sergel and directed by Andrew Villain. The show will run tonight, February 28 - March 16, 2014.

In Depression-era Maycomb, Alabama in 1935, young Scout lives with her father, Atticus Finch, an attorney, and her older brother Jem. When Tom Robinson, a black man, is accused of raping a young white woman, Atticus is asked to represent him and accepts, knowing that his decision will likely cause him, and his family, serious problems with some townspeople.

This play, an adaptation of the classic novel by Harper Lee, contains adult themes and occasional profanity (mild by today's standards), but is recommended for older children and families for its educational value and cultural significance.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD will play Fridays/Saturdays 8:00pm, Sundays 2:00pm. Tickets $13 students / $16 seniors, active military / $18 adults. Opening Night is Buy One Get One Free. Purchase/reserve tickets at www.surfsideplayers.com or call (321) 783-3127. Performances run at Surfside Players in Cocoa Beach. Take Highway A1A, turn west on South Fifth Street; playhouse is straight ahead. Lobby on the left side of the building (Ramp Road). Additional parking on Ramp Road and Sunrise Drive.
