Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (OST) will be hosting a special PlayShop holiday event featuring Santa Claus at today's December 14 performance of The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of "A Christmas Carol." This promises to be a magical evening filled with specialty crafts, fun games, and tons of holiday spirit.

Orlando Shakes debuted PlayShop this season in order to give families with children the opportunity to explore the many benefits of a theatrical experience. Parents and grandparents get to enjoy a show while the children participate in an educational and creative class for the duration of the performance. The service is available to all ticket buyers for select Friday performances of Signature Series and Studio Series productions for just $15 per child.

"PlayShop is a great opportunity for families to experience the theater together," says TYA coordinator Lisa Devins Horohoe. "This event is even more special because we were able to have Santa join us. He cleared a spot on his very busy holiday schedule just to bring a little extra Christmas spirit to our theater families."

PlayShop is open to all children ages 5 – 12 at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center (812 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL). Registration for PlayShop is just $15 per child. Please call (407) 447-1700 to reserve your spaceor visit http://orlandoshakes.org for more information.
