Mad Cow Theatre's VENUS IN FUR Opens 10/18
Mad Cow Theatre will present the David Ives' hit Venus in Fur in our intimate Black Box Theatre October 18 - November 17, 2013.
The sexiest, funniest, most acclaimed hit of the recent Broadway season, this seductive comedy blends love, lust, and literature, with the ultimate battle of the sexes. Vanda is an unusual young actress who arrives to audition for the lead in playwright Thomas' adaptation of the erotic novel, Venus in Furs. During the reading, realities begin to shift and Thomas finds himself heading into dangerous territory. Does art imitate life? Or is it the other way around? Written by comic mastermind David Ives, this sizzling new play will keep you guessing until the very end.
The cast features Piper Rae Patterson (Dancing at Lughnasa, Enchanted April) as Vanda and Tim Williams (Laughter on the 23rd Floor, dir. Death of a Salesman) as Thomas, and direction by Peg O'Keef (The Year of Magical Thinking, August: Osage County).
Scenic Design by William Elliott (Death of a Salesman, Next to Normal), Lighting Design by Erin Miner (The Road to Mecca, Collected Stories), Costume Design by Mike and Kathy Buck (Dreamgirls), making his Mad Cow debut as Sound Designer is Will Carlson, and Stage Manager Linda Marie Romanello (Collected Stories).
Preview Performances are October 16 & 17 at 8:00pm. All tickets are $10.00.
A special Pay What You Wish performance is scheduled for Wednesday for Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $15.00 in advance. A portion of the house will be held for sale the night of the show and patrons can "Pay What You Wish" at the door. These tickets will go on sale starting at 7:00pm at the Box Office only. Each patron is limited to two tickets. Tickets available until sold out. All regular peformances begin at 8:00pm Thursday - Saturday, and 3:00pm on Sundays.
Talk Back's occur every Thursday and Sunday following the performance at no extra cost and are free to the public as well.
