"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being." ~ Oscar Wilde

Amelia Community Theatre will present one of the most human plays you will see this theatre season, Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay - Abaire. "David Lindsay-Abaire has crafted a drama that's not just a departure but a revelation-an intensely emotional examination of grief, laced with wit, insightfulness, compassion and searing honesty." -David Rooney, Variety

Winning the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for best Drama. Rabbit Hole is an examination of the aftermath of one family's unimaginable loss. Chronicled in detail, it is emotionally wrenching, while intermittently it provides character exchanges that allow the audience moments of cathartic laughter. Ultimately, it's an investigation of grief and how it simultaneously binds and separates the people involved.

Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and a path that will lead them back into the light of day. The family dynamic includes Becca's irreverent and rough around the edges sister, Izzy and their opinionated, firecracker of a mom, Nat. Jason, the teenage boy at the center of the accident, rounds out this five person cast.

After a critically-acclaimed Broadway premier and successful film adaptation (starring Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart, and Diane West), Rabbit Hole has been hailed as an artistic breakthrough for the highly regarded playwright. Few of Lindsay-Abaire's contemporaries possess the ability to sculpt dialogue that never feels contrived or forced; therein lies the brilliance of this modern playwright.

The Amelia Community Theatre wishes to thank our supportive patrons, Charles and Catherine West; they have kindly chosen to sponsor this show in memory of Judy Marie West.

The cast includes, Toni D'Amico as Becca, Joseph Stearman as Howie, Samantha Hilliker as Izzy, Diana Herman as Nat, and Raymond Arrington as Jason.
