Clandestine-Arts to Present AIDA, 6/13-29

Clandestine-Arts is bringing the award-winning Broadway musical Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA to the stage. This riveting, romantic pop/rock epic will appear at Blue Star's "The Venue" June 13-29, 2014.

Winner of four Tony Awards when Disney's Hyperion Theatrical Group first brought it to Broadway, Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA is set in ancient Egypt and tells the story of an enslaved Nubian princess, her conflicted Egyptian captor, and a forbidden love that rocks the ancient world to its core. Part Broadway musical, part dance spectacular and part rock concert, AIDA is an epic tale about the power and timelessness of love.

The show features music by pop legend Sir Elton John, one of the most successful music artists in the modern era, and lyrics by the amazing Sir Tim Rice, who made his reputation writing hits like Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita. After their successful partnership writing the score for both the film and stage productions of The Lion King, this dynamic musical duo teamed up again with the idea to pen Disney's first Broadway musical for grown-ups, and that's how AIDA was born.

When the show is mounted by Clandestine-Arts it will feature a cast that includes LaDawn Taylor as Aida; Tony Flaherty as Radames; Emily Grainger, as the Princess Amneris; Cesar De La Rosa as Mereb; J Michael Werner as Zoser; Brett P Carsonas the Pharaoh; Barry White as Nubian King Amonasro; and Desiree Perez as Nehebka.

Rounding out the cast are Steven Flores, Andrew LeJune, C.J. Sikorski, Daniel Martinez, Ashley Pitzer, Rachel Pruitt, Pilar Rehert, Tymisha Harris, Gabby Brown, Caisey Cole and Kyle Tribble.

Clandestine-Arts will present Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida June 13,14,16,19,20,21,22,26,28 at 8:00 PM, June 27 at 7:00 PM and June 29 at 3:00 PM. All performances are held at "The Venue" located at 511 Virginia Drive, Orlando. Tickets are $20.00 and may be purchased online at and at the door based on availability. Clandestine-Arts will offer an Industry Night Special Monday June 16th at 8:00 PM tickets will be $15.00 each!
