The Shelterbelt Theatre has announced the return of Shelterskelter for it's 16th year with 9 brand new plays. Producer Craig Bond says, "This year's scripts are a great mix of creepy, spooky and darkly humorous. There are a couple with a little shock value, and several with a wicked humorous streak. The show is definitely not for little kids, but should appeal to a broad audience."

The scripts were chosen from dozens of submissions throughout the year, and they come from all around the world. This year's scripts come from Omaha, New York, Ohio, Georgia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, California and Arizona.

Bond says that the scripts have generated a lot of excitement among directors and actors. "They really are good scripts - a lot of chances for actors to really show their skills, and for directors to pull a lot out of the story. Subject matter ranges from crowd favorites like zombies to serial killers to some very clever relationship stories - with a twist."

Directors this year include veteran directors John Hatcher, Adam Nathan and Meganne Horrocks, along with Andy Niess, directing his first play in the Omaha area. The slate of actors features Melissa Carnahan, Barb Glaser, Taylor Melone, Laci Neal, Devel Crisp, Myles Dabbs, Kendall Gray, Jesse Hapke, Michael Lane, and Demian Ryder. Several are new to the Shelterbelt stage.

The production crew are mostly veteran talent - stage manager Frank Insolera; lighting designer Tom Reardon; sound designer Dave Podendorf; set designer Adam Nathan; light operator Dan Baye; poster/postcard/video designer Mark Cramer; and costumes by Barb Glaser.
