Omaha Performing Arts SHREK THE MUSICAL 'Where's Gingy?' Photo Contest Opens Submissions thru 10/1

SHREK fans are invited to submit a photo of fairytale character "Gingy" at one of their favorite destinations during Omaha Performing Arts' "Gingy" photo contest. Photos of "Gingy" will be accepted via Twitter (Hash tag: #GingyInOmaha) and Facebook, September 21 through October 1. The public will vote for their favorite photo via Facebook from October 1 through October 12. The person submitting the winning entry will receive four tickets to SHREK THE MUSICAL for opening night at the Orpheum Theater, Tuesday, October 23. "Gingy" is one of several fairytale characters audiences will see during SHREK THE MUSICAL, which will continue performances through Sunday, October 28. The production is part of the Omaha Performing Arts' Broadway series.

Here's what to do: Go to https://www.facebook.com/OmahaPerformingArtsOrg# and download the photo of "Gingy." Then visit one of your favorite destinations, take a photo of Gingy at that destination and submit your photo via social media. You can submit as many photos as you like by October 1. You and everyone else can vote online for your favorite entry between October 1 and October 12. Omaha Performing Arts will select the winner. While entries can be submitted via twitter, voting will take place only on Omaha Performing Arts' Facebook page.*

Shrek is a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren't only found in fairy tales.

SHREK THE MUSICAL will play the Orpheum Theater, for eight performances, Tuesday, October 23 through Sunday, October 28. Performance times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Due to the nature of live entertainment, all programs, performers, prices, dates and times are subject to change.
