The 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner, Next to Normal is a deeply moving rock musical and raw account of a family dealing with mental illness, tragedy and the realities of modern society. An overly medicated mother tries to cope with bipolar disorder as her family struggles to maintain normalcy in their suburban home for her sanity and their own. The show runs Feb. 7-March 16, 2014, playing Thursday-Saturday, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m. at the Omaha Community Playhouse, Howard Drew Theatre, located at 6915 Cass Street | Omaha, NE 68132.
